Southern States Fishn’ & Huntn’ Magazine & Ponce Fish Network would like to thank Eric Sander and Tackle Box I.D. for graciously sponsoring the Daytona Beach Fishing Rodeo and donating all the measuring rulers needed for the event. We had a vision for our measuring boards, and he created the masterpiece!

Eric’s contributions to the fishing community go well beyond this generous donation. A former commercial fisherman and fisheries biologist, he spent more than 20 years with Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, helping coordinate recreational fishing surveys & at sea observer trips throughout Northeast Florida.

His expertise in shark identification also supports NOAA Fisheries’ training workshops for seafood dealers. The identification method he developed helps improve the accuracy of fisheries data and is used by researchers and law enforcement. Through Tackle Box I.D., he puts that knowledge into anglers’ hands with fish identification guides, charts, and measuring rulers.

Eric also serves his hometown as a South Daytona city councilman. From working on the water to educating anglers and supporting local events, he brings decades of experience and service to our community.

Thank you Eric, for sharing your knowledge, supporting our fishermen & charter Captains, and helping make the Daytona Beach Fishing Rodeo possible. We’re grateful to have you aboard!

Very proud to be part of this inaugural event, and look forward to helping it grow each year along side Haley of Ponce Fish Network. The main goal for the rodeo is to bring families to our area and support our local fisheries and charter captains.

This November, book a trip with a participating local charter captain and put your catch in the running during the Daytona Beach Fishing Rodeo.
