The Amazons were ecstatic to again be a part of the annual Eye-Dotting Ceremony Kicking off the Portland Rose Festival Dragon Boat Race Season for 2026!
Since the Amazon Dragons were founded in 1992 to attend the Rose Festival Dragonboat Race, this ceremony is close to our hearts and part of our history.
The Portland-Kaohsiung Sister City Association (PKSCA) has hosted this event annually since 1989. Dotting the eyes symbolically awakens and transforms the historically painted boats into real dragons, as part of ancient Chinese culture.
