We’re excited to welcome Alec Muthig to the Odyssey Adventure Racing staff team!

Coming from Laramie, Wyoming and now based in Roanoke, Virginia, Alec brings years of endurance event organization, expedition experience, and a passion for creating adventures that challenge people deeply and build lasting community.

Alec has organized and supported races throughout the American West, participated in events like the Leadville Trail 100 and Arrowhead 135, completed rugged mountain traverses and brutal winter crossings, and somehow still thinks racing across frozen Alaska this winter sounds like a good idea.

What drew Alec to Odyssey was a shared belief with Odyssey owner Ronny Angell that the best events are about more than competition – they’re about growth, resilience, friendship, and the stories that come from pushing beyond what you thought possible.

He also firmly believes that every great adventure should end with tall tales shared over an ice-cold beer while convincing someone else to sign up for the next wild idea.
