Week one is in the books.
We opened the season against a strong New London side, falling 51 to 14,but the score does not tell the whole story. Our guys stayed committed to playing intentional rugby from start to finish, kept the effort high, and continued competing for each other for the full 80 minutes.
Congratulations to New London on a well earned win, and thank you for a hard fought match!
Our Men of the Match were forward Jeff Williams and back Nate Mullins. Both put together strong performances and set the tone with their physicality.
Next up, we head to Canton to take on the Wolfhounds. We have had some great matches with them over the last few seasons, and we are looking forward to another tough contest.
There is plenty happening around the club off the field as well. Our youth rugby skills clinic is coming up over the first two weekends of October and will give young players a chance to learn the game, build their skills, and get involved in the community.
We are also continuing our fundraising push ahead of our team tour to Ireland next season. Rent a Rugger is available for moving jobs and other heavy lifting needs, and we have also launched a new team raffle. Every bit of support helps us get closer to bringing North Shore Rugby overseas!
One game down, plenty more rugby ahead.
Thanks all, see you in Canton.
