🤣 In her book, My Stroke of Insight, Jill Bolt Taylor, a Harvard trained nueroanatomist, refers to the negative voice inside her head as the, “itty-bitty shi**y committee. That has always stuck with me. I think of it anytime the negative voice inside my head attempts to get the better of me. I share it with you in the hopes that it can help you disrupt a negative rumination before it ruins your day or even a moment of your beautiful life.

What an appropriate message for today! Whether you are religious or not, there is a helpful reminder for all of us in today’s Easter celebration. Let go of the past. Begin again. 💗

Jesus released his human form to rise again as the light of the world. We may not be ready for such a feat, but there is certainly something to be said of letting go of the past, letting go of regrets, letting go of personal limitations, letting go of all that is holding us back and allowing ourselves to move forward to a brighter future.

In yoga, the class ends with savasana or co**se pose.

At the end of each yoga class, we lie down and surrender into stillness. We create space for the deep wisdom from the shadows of our mind to move to the forefront of our mind. Helpful personal insight begins to shift from the subconscious to the conscious mind. We may suddenly recognize the false roles, the limiting narratives, the old hurts, the biases, the painful stress we have been carrying. We are given the opportunity to choose a different path and begin, again. We rise from our mat feeling lighter and less burdened, more aligned with our own inner light.

In co**se pose, we “die” to our old self to rise anew and begin again feeling better than before. When we feel better, we often do better. This is where the transformational power of yoga resides. This is where the magic happens. ✨💫✨

Eat more veggies. You don’t have to give up meat completely to reap some of the benefits; you simply have to include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. Find small ways to add more fruits and veggies into your daily diet.

This is the motto coined by author Michael Pollan in his 2008 book, “In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto”.

Eat real foods which are generally found in the perimeter of the grocery store rather than the center of the store. Avoid highly processed, highly palatable foods. They are addictive and riddled with harmful ingredients that can lead to or exacerbate chronic disease. Avoid over eating. Finally, eat mostly plants. The advice is simple, direct and easy to remember thus effective. March is National Nutrition Month a perfect time to review our dietary choices. We are encouraged to make informed food choices and develop sound eating and physical activity habits

Your energy intermingles and directs the energy of the universe. We are constantly contributing to how the story unfolds. Not only the story of our personal lives, but also the story of the universe or the collective whole. This is why yoga, meditation, philosophy reminds us to act mindfully, to recognize the immensity of our role and act accordingly. Act in ways that can create a better future for ourselves and for everyone around us.

I don’t pretend to know all the answers, but I feel that kindness and consideration must be at the crux of our actions, even the smallest of them. It is the microcosm that creates the macro. Perhaps, we cannot make big change but we can all make small changes to better our collective future. May you continue to live in such a way that lead us to a better more harmonious existence. 💖

"Work, Travel, Save, Repeat!" My sister and I just returned from London. We had a great time. I am now ready to return to my regular work schedule. I have missed you and our workouts. My USAA classes and private sessions resumed this week and the studio class, along with the livestream classes will start back up next week. Hope to see you there! 💗

Yoga can change your life when practiced mindfully and consistently. It improves one’s ability to focus on the here and now which translates into more presence in our daily living. Imagine what it would be like to live less distracted and more tuned into what is best for you, for others and for our 🌏. If you haven’t started, give yoga a try.
