🌕 ONE WEEK TO GO!

The 14th Annual Full Moon Trail Run is just 7 days away! Next Saturday, September 26, we’ll be heading into Lewis Park & Trails for an evening on the trails under the full moon.

Whether you’re running the approximately 3-mile route or taking the family-friendly approximately 1-mile walk, come ready for a fun night outdoors. Tiki torches, flashlights, prairie, wooded trails, and a full moon make this one of Springfield’s most unique local events.

Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m.
Run starts at 7:00 p.m.
Walk begins approximately 5 minutes after the run

Know Before You Go: Full Moon Trail Run Trail Routes

Whether you’re running or walking, we’ve got a route for you.
~3-Mile Run | 7:00 p.m.

The run takes you through a mix of prairie and wooded trails. The route is marked and lightly technical, so keep an eye out for roots, ruts, and a few logs along the way!

~1-Mile Family-Friendly Walk | Approximately 7:05 p.m.
This loop is mostly prairie with a small section through the woods. It’s a great option for families and those looking for a shorter trail experience.

A few trail tips:
• Routes are clearly marked.
• Expect natural, lightly technical terrain.
• Watch your footing for roots, ruts, and logs.
• Bring your sense of adventure — and enjoy the trails under the full moon!

Whether you’re part of a local organization looking for service hours, a group that wants to volunteer together, or simply someone who enjoys being part of a great community event, we’d love to have you on the team!

Volunteer opportunities include:

• Tear Down

It’s a fun way to get involved, support local trails, and cheer on runners and walkers under the full moon. 🌕

🦅 Eagle Scout Project Completed – North Bridge Replacement! 🦅

A huge congratulations to Scout Jayden Brown from Troop 97 for the successful completion of his Eagle Scout North Bridge Replacement Project on September 25th, 2025! 👷‍♂️🌉

Thanks to Jayden’s leadership — and the hard work of his fellow Scouts, family, and volunteers — the new North Bridge is open and was able to be used for the Full Moon Trail Run 2025 presented by LRS! 🌕🚶‍♀️🏃

This new bridge not only improves safety and accessibility, but also stands as a lasting symbol of dedication, teamwork, and community pride here at Lewis Park & Trails. 🌲💪
