The Brazilian Black Tarantula is a great beginner species. They are docile , they look amazing, and they are quite hardy. The only downside is that they can be slow growing and a little rare to to find a bigger size. However, if you are able to find one and you’re looking for a Tarantula, definitely consider this.

I grew up on the Ohio River, playing in these Appalachian creeks my entire life, and now the Tarantula Collective studio sits right on Wheeling Creek. By September 13th the leaves will be starting to change and the hills will be turning every shade of orange and red. The drive into Wheeling is worth enjoying all by itself, no matter what direction youre coming from.

So take the scenic route, slow down for a day, hang out by the creek, meet a bunch of spider people, and spend a Sunday surrounded by tarantulas, scorpions, centipedes, millipedes, roaches, beetles, plants, oddities, and other inverts.
