POV: we asked our clients their favorite thing about the studio… and somehow almost everyone answered “Tripp.” 🐾😂

Okay okay, Pilates, friendships, feeling stronger, amazing instructors… those got some love too. But apparently our goofy studio Doberman is the real star of the show. 💙

Congrats to Miranda on 250 classes!!!! Miranda came in a few years ago with the most extensive spinal fusion that I’ve ever seen and very afraid of getting hurt. We worked together carefully and Miranda quickly moved from private sessions into group classes, finding that Pilates gave her relief from the pain and stiffness, as well as preventing atrophy at the ends of her fusion (which is a very real problem!)

In the process, Miranda also became a very good friend! Check out her shirt which she made for Lucy’s 11th birthday 🥰🥰🥰 love you girl!

Pilates for Back Care, Tuesday mornings at 8am. What is it, and why?

Sooooooo many of us (including me) suffer from back pain, often consistent, sometimes crippling. In our Pilates for Back Care class on Tuesday mornings, we move your spine - from the pelvis to the skull - in all directions. This maintains a well lubricated, more mobile, and less painful back. This class allows many of our clients to avoid injections and physical therapy, and keeps them at work with less pain ultimately improving their daily life.

For me personally, I suffer at times from nearly debilitating low back pain from a car accident 30 years ago that left one hip much higher than the other. These movements are very challenging for me, and often I even need an Advil a day after spinal extension like this, but after the muscle aches ease, the relief is extensive. We see all kinds of conditions and ranges of mobility in our back care class from severe scoliosis to partial or even full spinal fusions, but the results across the board are similar.
