Safety & Costume Guidelines for Players: We still have games to play, so please follow these quick ground rules to keep everyone safe on the field:
Keep Jerseys Visible: Wear team jerseys on top or clearly visible so umpires and coaches can identify players.
Family-Friendly: Keep costumes fun and avoid heavy gore for our younger players.
Clear Eyesight Only: No masks or eye coverings - players must be able to see the ball clearly.
Face Paint & Props: Face paint is fine (keep it away from eyes so it doesn’t run with sweat). No costume props on the field - bats and gloves are the only allowed gear!
Footwear & Protection: Cleats and athletic protectors (cups) are still mandatory.
No Caps, Tails, or Gowns: Nothing long, loose, or flowing (no capes, wizard robes, gowns, or tails) that could trip players up.
Helmets & Catcher Gear: Batting helmets and catchers’ gear must fit safely. No wigs, hats, or headpieces under helmets, and catchers’ gear must go over any costume.
Pitchers: Avoid flashy, dangling arm accessories that could distract batters.
Quick Reminders
Layer Up: Wear your regular uniform under your costume in case it gets warm or uncomfortable mid-game.
Hydrate: Pack extra water for the afternoon!
Final Say: Umpires and coaches have the final authority to ask a player to remove any costume piece that gets in the way of play.
