Excess: An amount of something that is more than necessary

What is necessary? Taking an hour a day to yourself to decompress and recharge so you can continue on with your busy schedule of work, home, kids, sports and whatever the day throws your way. At Crossfit Excess our mission is to help each and every client establish a happier, healthier, and stronger life for themselves. We believe in Cro

ssfit and that it is life changing, not because we read it in a magazine but that we have witnessed it within ourselves and those we have had the privilege of training and working out with over the five years we have been involved in the Crossfit community. People usually start Crossfit with the idea of a personal appearance goal but we have watched how quickly that becomes so much more. Crossfit builds confidence, competitiveness, and pushes us to limits we would never in our minds believe we are capable of achieving. Crossfit is for any level of experience, from people who have never worked out a day in their life to the elite athlete. We promise to dedicate ourselves to you and what you need and want. We are constantly learning and seeking knowledge to share with our gym. We will continue to strive to offer the best training because we want nothing but the best for you. What we offer at Excess is an atmosphere that is unmatched! Our ability to train the elite athlete to the person who just started working out has been proven at CrossFit Excess! We focus on teaching proper technique from day one. We care about properly warming up and improving your mobility. We challenge you daily with our workouts and get the most out of you every single training session. We run a dedicated strength program and Olympic lift multiple times a week. Our gym constantly does activates together inside and outside of the gym. Excess is every single members second family, no questions asked

We all have our thing we like to do outside of work and other responsibilities. For some reason, CrossFit or working out in general seems to annoy others around us more than if we were doing another hobby.

It’s pretty mind blowing

The comments about always being at the gym, don’t you workout enough, why do you spend so much time working out, I’m sure we’ve all heard that and more.

It’s easy to get annoyed, but even easier to push back and tell them exactly why we love CrossFit or to workout. Explain how it makes you feel. Express how much it impacts you mentally. Tell them about the people, the community, the atmosphere.

Have them join you and see for themselves

In the end, find what you love to do that’s outside of the daily grind. If it’s CrossFit, there’s nothing wrong with that. If it’s some other active hobby, get after it. Just don’t fall into the trap of letting others dictate what you do.

Or take away the one thing that’s keeping you from mentally jumping off a cliff, away

We control our own reality. Often today’s actions were set in motion days, weeks, or months ago. How we prepared ourselves when there was calm, will often excel us when there is chaos.

Take your fitness seriously

Tomorrow isn’t promised, a term we all ignore on a daily basis. But what I do today, this week, next month, can all impact what’s to come when we least expect it.

CrossFit’s tagline “prepare for the unknown” is overused but also understated at the same time. We train in here not to be the next games athlete, but to our absolute fullest each and every everyday.

The Games, qualifiers, major events, those are just byproducts of the collective you get inside our gym.

We train for life. We train to push people off the side of the road if stranded. To have the ability to pick ourselves up after a major accident. To inspire others who are silently watching.

To LIVE life

We’ve always ignored the noise on the outside here. We know what we do. We know what we are about. We have our expectations.

Do you?

Determine what’s worth IT, then become relentless with your attack on it. Everyone desires results, yet many fail to do what’s required to achieve them.

It’s not just the programming, coaching, and atmosphere. It takes a person who’s done settling for the minimum result.

It’s amazing what we can each accomplish physically when we allow ourselves mentally to attack something that we’ve been chasing.

It’s not just a ring push up or just a wallball
Its not just a warmup or mobility
It’s not just a whiteboard
It’s not just a high-five
It’s not just for show

This is us, every single class, every single day.

We’re here to make you better on every level, no matter your level. We are looking for the small details within everything that we do in class to increase your performance and efficiency. .

Taking the spin out of a wallball to ensure once it impacts the wall, it returns into the exact same spot every time. Pointing the toes on a handstand walk. Not wasting movement on db box overs and teaching the 3 step. Staying low on burpee over the bar to shave .25 seconds per rep from those who stand up fully. Squeeze the thighs after the pinch sequence on a rope climb.

The list goes on and we aren’t afraid to go down to the micro level when needed.

We don’t wear coach on the back of our shirts, our actions separate us. Our willingness shows how serious we take this honor. We are just part of them.

From day one and until we close the doors, this is and will always be OUR standard.

No blanket modifications. No regression. Always forward.
