It’s that time of year again: fall aeration is coming up at our courses.

On the dates shown, nine holes will be open for play at Auburn Hills, MacDonald, and Tex Consolver while our crews aerate the other nine.

One note for our Arthur B. Sim regulars: Sim will not be pulling cores this year, but the course will be closed on the displayed dates as our crew reseeds the fairways, the next step in the renovation that’s transforming the playing surface out there.

We know maintenance projects are never the most convenient, and we appreciate your patience while this important work gets done. The payoff is better conditions at every course this fall and beyond!

The clinics might be the best reason to come to Ladies Appreciation Day, and this year they come with a few new faces.

Golfers from the Friends University women's golf team will be with us at the range, sharing what their practice actually looks like. Not the polished version, but the real one. The drills they run, how they structure time when they only have an hour, and what the jump from high school golf to the college level asked of them. For younger players wondering if college golf is possible, this is a chance to ask someone living it right now. For everyone else, it is a look at how a competitive player thinks about her range time.

Our Golf Wichita professionals will be working alongside them all afternoon with demonstrations and hands on instruction. Bring a question about your slice, your short game, your grip, or the club you never feel confident pulling. Nothing is too basic here. Range time is free, so you can take what you learn and hit balls right away while it is still fresh.

ShotSuite will have their launch monitor set up nearby if you want to put actual numbers to a swing you have only ever felt.
