KILLARNEY DRAG DAY – IT’S TIME TO ‘HAAL UIT EN WYS’!

It’s ROUND SIX of the Western Province Drag Racing Championship.
By now everybody knows who their closest rivals are; for the leaders it’s all about consistency over the few remaining events, while for the challengers it’s time to raise their game.

Bracket racing is the most complex drag racing discipline. It demands a lot more skill from the driver than does straight heads-up racing – but the burnouts will be just as epic and the adrenalin levels will be even higher.

It’s time to go big or go home – be there to watch the drama unfold.

WHEN: Saturday 18 July: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Killarney’s Drag Days are all about purpose built drag racers, lightweight bodies fitted with highly modified, insanely powerful engines and huge ultra-soft ‘wrinkly’ tyres.
But there are classes for everything, including superbikes and street cars, so you’re guaranteed a full day of straight-line action.

This is the real deal - American-style drag racing, complete with a 'Christmas Tree' of yellow lights counting down to an explosive launch.

And it’s a FAMILY FESTIVAL with kiddies’ play areas, ice-cold beverages and delicious food (including halaal).

Killarney’s fifth Drag Day of 2026 welcomed the next generation of drag racers, in the shape of two youngsters on pocket bikes – but there was plenty of action among the grown-up competitors as well!

WINTER SUN DELIVERS HOT DRAG RACING
Killarney’s fourth Drag Day of 2026 was run in perfect conditions, delivering some superb times for both the many out-of-town visitors and the local heroes.

Notable amongst them were a new personal best for Reece ‘Buddy’ Robertson on his Suzuki GSX-R1000 of 8.54497 seconds at 254.48km/h, and Drew Hansen (Audi TTRS) who came heartbreakingly close to breaking into the eights with a best effort of 9.0964 seconds at 244.45km/h.

THE TRACKSIDE GRILL IS BACK – AND YOU’RE INVITED!

Killarney’s celebrated Trackside Grill re-opens on Tuesday 23 June.

Forget about online orders served in a plastic bag out of a scooter box – this is the real deal, fresh and tasty, prepared for you, the customer, not for an order number.

Our menu offerings will include:

Our opening hours on other Saturdays will be based on what’s happening at Killarney on the day – but we’ll let you know in good time!
