Club Update:

Firstly we would like to apologize to our supporters and Fans for late updates due to unforseen circumstances.

Our Mens Regional team participated in two pre season tournaments" The Wafa Wafa Pre season tournament hosted by Mbekweni Youth Centre and the Malambane Pre season tournament last month in preparations of the new upcoming season of the safa capewinelands HollywoodBets Mens Regional League that will take place on the 2nd of October 2026

Our boys did well in both pre season tournaments by showing character and determination throughout those games, The team is doing well at all departments but we are still looking for a central defender and a striker just to strengthen our squad even more, Any player who might be interested in joining our team especially in these two departments we have just mentioned they are more than welcome.

Training still continues at Mbekweni B and C Field in weekdays from Tuesday to Thursday 17h00, That is all for now, We ll keep our supporters updated every week since we are about to start the new season, Thank you for you patience Mbekweni Sundowns Family.

Mr Ndarana was a father of football in Drakenstein. His leadership, vision and love for the game shaped many clubs, players and administrators.

Good Afternoon Masandawana Family, Firstly we would like to apologize for being quiet for such a long time due to unforseen circumstances.

Just a quick update about the club, On the Sunday of the 19th of July 2026 we have participated in Safa capewinelands Regional Pre-season Tournament which held in Lentelus Stellenbosch. We were 9 clubs that participated. In our Stream/ Group we were 3 Teams namely :

1.M/Sundowns
2.M/Sport Centre
3.NietvoobjieFirst Match Mbk Sundowns and Mbekweni Sport Centre.

We Won 1-0 Goal scored Andiswa Khahlana

Second Game MBK Sundowns vs Nietvoobjie

Won 4-0 Goals scored
Bohlokoa Morake (Vinny) 1
Lithemba Gangathele (Mgadli )1
Somila Gobodo(Soso) 1
Esethu Witbooi (Maseven) 1

Semi final MBK Sundowns vs Battalion ladies we won 1-0 Goal scored Ayakha Nyoka Neymar

Final MBK Sundowns VS Warriors lost on penalties by 4-2.

Our girls teams showed hunger and determination through hard work, We'll keep on working in preparation of the New Season of the Provincial Women's league 2026/27.

🕊️ *Rest In erternal peace: John "Ryder" Soga* 🕊️

WBefore he became a Mbekweni Sundowns is deeply saddened by the passing of their club legend.

Mr John Soga made his name at *Old Buck Football Club and Eleven Ideas* through the early 80s and 90s. He brought that same fire, skill, and respect for the game to every team he played for.

But it was here in Mbekweni, wearing the Mbekweni Sundowns badge, where he truly became family. He played with heart, led with his chest, and taught every young boy what it meant to play for the badge, not just the score.

Mr John Soga wasn’t just a player. He was a mentor, a brother, and a pillar of our community. The fields will be quieter, the streets will miss his presence, but his name and his spirit will live forever in Mbekweni.

From Old Buck FC → Eleven Ideas → Mbekweni Sundowns.
One journey. One love for the game. One legacy we’ll carry forward.

Good morning to all our Supporters, Apologies for late updates due to unforseen circumstances.

We would like to summarize summarize just a few updates about our Mens Regional League Senior team. Our season has came to an end, We managed to be in position 7 that's how we close our season, The boys showed character and determination throughout the season, We had a very good and young squad this season whereby most of these players were recruited from the Promotional league but they were the best from the start till the end of this season, We hope next season we ll do even better.

Our Pre season training for the Mrl senior team will start in July, Any player that would like to join Mbekweni Sundowns FC is more than welcome, The starting date and times of the pre season training sessions will be communicated on a later stage via this platform.

Lastly we would also like to update you about our Ladies team that has started with their pre season training sessions in preparations for their new upcoming season of the Sasol Womens League 2026/27 Season. We are just waiting for Safa Western Cape to give us the dates for the kick off of the league. Any player that would like to join Mbekweni Sundowns Ladies team is welcome to attend trials during our training sessions.

Good morning to all our Supporters and Fans, Apologies for late updates due to unforseen circumstances.

Tonight our Regional League Team will take on Wellington Warriors@Mbekweni A Field.

We urge all Supporters to come all out and give support to the boys as we really need this 3 points at all costs,

Our last encounter we lost to Black Stars FC by a scoreline of 2-1 at our home soil Mbekweni Stadium, We lost this match due to unavailability of some of our key players. Today we are looking forward to to this match with the hope of all our players will be available.

Lets all come our in numbers tonight and rally behind the boys.
