🏑 FHC AWAY & CLASH STRIPS – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 💙🤍❤️

With the rollout of our new Grays uniforms for Season 2026, we can now confirm how our home, away and clash strips will work in line with Hockey Victoria’s uniform clash requirements.

🔵 SENIORS & MASTERS

🏠 Home games: Blue top + red socks
🚗 Away games: White top + blue socks

For Seniors and Masters, the white top is now our official away strip and should be worn for every away game.

There may still be occasions where sock colours need to change depending on the opposition. Team Managers should use the bottom table on the Hockey Victoria uniform clash list to check this.

For example: when playing Altona at Altona, FHC wears white tops + red socks.

🔵 JUNIORS

🏠 Home strip: Blue top + red socks
🚗 Away games: Blue top + red socks, unless there is a uniform clash.

Unlike Seniors and Masters, Juniors do not automatically wear white for away games. Team Managers should use the top table on the Hockey Victoria uniform clash list to determine whether a clash strip is required.

When a white clash top is needed, junior teams have access to several bags of club-owned white shirts to borrow for the game, helping avoid the additional cost of purchasing an away shirt for families.

Our junior clash shirts have a lovely story behind them. In 2022, Ruby nominated FHC as the beneficiary of a grant through the Edstart Achievement Awards Program, securing an incredible $1,500 for the Club.

It has taken a few years for our new uniform arrangements to be fully rolled out, but we certainly haven’t forgotten Ruby’s generous contribution. Thank you, Ruby! 👏💙

🏠 COMING TO THE KENNEL?

For visiting teams coming to FHC, there are no changes to our home strip.

And a fun fact to finish: FHC is the first club in Melbourne to have our very own away strip! 🤍💙

MEN'S HEALTH ROUND LUNCH The lunch held at River's Edge on the Yarra to celebrate Men's Health Round was a great opportunity to network, listen to some wonderful guest speakers from Movember, Jack Davis (Founder of its Cool to Cry) and question time with Johan Durst and Josh Simmons from Hockey Club Melbourne. Attended by Nicole Virtuoso, Heather Shaw, Mitch Braiden and Lachie Anderson. As we lead into this weekend and beyond, big message was to talk about mental health, ask about mental health and check in with your family and friends.

Congratulations to Hernie Isorena for 400 club games!

Hern has contributed greatly to Footscray over many years. Having played in multiple senior premierships with the club, always willing to put his hand up to help out no matter what the grade and where the game is. Currently you will find him from Pennant A to Metro along with the over40s on a Monday night!

He has also coached in all sections including Men’s Reserves to finals series, Women’s Pennant coaching and a number of years coaching Juniors from helping the U8s through to Shield teams. Always passionate about coaching and developing people to be the best player and person they can be.

Congratulations to Scott Shaw, who will celebrate his 600th game for Footscray this Sunday at 3:30pm at home in Premier League.

Scott's hockey journey began in 1998 as a Footscray junior, where over the years he was recognised as Junior Club Champion and earned selection in Victorian representative teams.
He quickly progressed through the senior ranks and has now been a cornerstone of our Men's Firsts for more than 15 years.

A career highlight came in the 2011 State League 2 Premiership, where he successfully converted two penalty strokes to help secure the flag and the clubs promotion to State League 1 (now known as premier league). He has also twice finished runner-up in the Men's Firsts Best and Fairest.

In recent years, Scott has been a respected leader, serving as vice-captain and playing an integral role in the club's leadership group.

Known for his passion for finding the back of the net, Scott never misses the chance to celebrate a goal and has been his team's leading goal scorer for multiple consecutive seasons. Off the field, he's just as passionate about the game—always happy to chat hockey with anyone, especially after a few beers.
Congratulations, on reaching the incredible milestone of 600 games in the red white and blue.
