Is your child playing with the right size racquet for their age and stage of development? The right racquet can make a real difference to how they learn and enjoy the game.
Have a read of the guide below before choosing their next racquet — and when in doubt, ask your coach!
🎾 Is your child using the right size tennis racquet?
The right racquet doesn't just make tennis easier—it helps young players develop better skills, confidence and a lifelong love of the game.
✅ Better technique
✅ More control
✅ Fewer injuries
✅ Greater confidence
✅ Faster development
A simple guide:
🔴 Red Ball (5-8 yrs): 19""-23"" racquet
🟠 Orange Ball (8-10 yrs): 23""-25"" racquet
🟢 Green Ball (9-11 yrs): 25""-26"" racquet
🟡 Yellow Ball (11+ yrs): 26""-27"" racquet (depending on height and strength)
Remember, age is only a guide. A player's height, strength and stage of development are the most important factors.
Before buying the next racquet, ask your coach. The right racquet today will help your child improve much faster than one they'll "grow into."
