Hard loss for our Prem 2 men last night at Tuggeranong, battling both Vikings and a very lop-sided foul count to fall 62-97.

Vikings were able to set up the win through the second and third terms, mounting fouls on Rats fleet of guards taking a toll. Jordan Doherty, Seb Shirley, Ryan Crowe and Max Morphy all finished with 10 points.

HUGE NEWS!!

Congrats to Rio Bruton on signing as a Development Player with the Brisbane Bullets! This continues a very proud Bruton dynasty with the Bullets, Rio following in the steps of his father, CJ, and grandfather, Cal.

After a really excellent 2025 in Canberra with Rats, Rio took his talents to South Adelaide in NBL1 Central this season, averaging nearly 18ppg, 2.2 assists and 4 rebounds.

He’s a really talented, mature and very likeable young guy, most deserving of this opportunity!!! We wish you well Rio!

A solid win for our Prem 1 men last night, defeating ANU 101-80. Rats held sway early as Will Goodwin (10 points) again got busy on the scoresheet early. The guys led by 12 at both the half and three quarter time, a 24-15 final term extending the margin and elevating Rats into the ladder’s top four. Coach Nocera praised the team’s offensive efficiency, highlighting the spread of scorers - Liam Naughton led the way with 22 points, Ryan Gooch 16 and Costa Tsiokantas 15.

A different story for our women - already battered by injury, illness and absence, hopes dived further in the opening 10 seconds against Norths as young gun Laela Watson suffered a significant ankle injury. Despite this Rats hung around for the first quarter before a dismal second term put the game out of their reach. Rats had no answers inside or on the boards, slow transition and turnovers not helping the cause as Norths secured an easy win, 38-82. Molly Lacey (sponsored by Ginninderry Homestead - Canberra Wedding Venue) led scoring with 13 points while Matilda Cooney, making her Prem 1 debut, did some nice things to finish with six points.

Our Prem 2 women have the bye tonight, with the guys taking on Vikings at Tuggeranong from 7.40pm.

Congratulations to Reuben Ritchie!! Just weeks after the U18 National Champs, a 16th birthday and a Senior Prem debut, Reuben was invited into the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence as an ACT Training Partner.

After a few weeks in training, he hit the NBL 1 court for the very first time on Saturday in COE’s win over Newcastle.

A great young guy that works very hard on his game. Rats are super proud!

The Under 12 Div 4A Creek Rats put in a solid performance this morning but couldn’t get the win, falling 10-25 to Flames. No doubt lots of things for the boys and Coach Alvin to keep working on!!!
