Canberra Lacrosse Club

This weekend, the Canberra Lacrosse Club will be putting our pre-season practice to the test with a refereed intraclub game day! Come on down to Telopea on Saturday, May 30 for some exciting Griffs-on-Griffs action.

Gameday schedule:
10am - arrive
10:15 - Women's game
11:15 - Men's game
12:00 - Pack up and to the 'Bou! 🍁 Caribou Kingston

Showdown in Sydney ⚡️ prior to the SLL on Sunday saw us bring a full side of men and 5 of our women up to take on Lacrosse NSW.

While our women's side went down to a young (and very fast!) NSW women's contingent, Katie and Sam led the scoring, with Emily and Meghann putting up strong defence. Faith in goals even got an assist!

Our men put up a strong fight - narrowing losing by 3 in the final few plays of the last quarter after scores were neck and neck over the game. Ash led the way with 4 goals, with help from Fitch and Andy with a beautiful behind the back 👏

Special shout outs also to our debutantes (and first 6s games) for Katie, Meghann and JD!

Griffs on tour 🚗💨

Save the date for an epic showdown against in Sydney! The Wombats have told us to show up at Centennial Park at high noon, if we dare...

On May 3 at 12pm, the Canberra women will face off against the Wombats, followed by the men at 1pm. From 2pm, the Griffins are invited to jump in on the weekly installment of the Sydney Lacrosse League, with our players being mixed into pre-existing teams.

All Griffins are welcome, regardless of experience. Shoot us a message if you're interested in attending but haven't been plugged into club comms yet.

We're pleased to once again announce The Caribou as our major sponsor this season! It will be our first, bittersweet year without Leeroy in our cheer squad. We are deeply thankful to Sophia, the Petersen family, and the crew at the 'Bou for continuing his steadfast support of community sport in Canberra. Our little club that could has truly been able to thrive because of it.

We look forward to playing hard this season in Leeroy's honour - and recovering properly after training at The Caribou 🍻

The Canberra Lacrosse Club has a charity jar at Grill'd in Belconnen for the month of April! Pop in, have a feast, and drop your token in our jar. The more tokens we get, the more money will be donated to our club - which we'll put directly into field bookings, equipment purchases, and keeping our membership fees affordable.
