Perfect conditions for running saw nearly one in every six people run a personal best time around the pond on Saturday morning. We also has a few milestones to go along with Kat's 500th:

💙 500 PARKRUNS — Event Director KAT!💙

Today at Gungahlin we celebrated a pretty incredible milestone, with Kat completing her 500th parkrun! 🎉

And when you look at Kat’s parkrun stats, 500 is really only part of the story.

🏃‍♀️ 500 parkruns
🏡 219 of them at Gungahlin
🌏 101 different parkrun locations, including plenty of adventures around Australia and overseas
⏱️ Gungahlin PB: 21:08
🔥 And for number 500 today — 21:21, just 13 seconds off that PB, with a fantastic 72.05% age grading!

But perhaps the most impressive number is this one…

🦺 405 VOLUNTEER CREDITS!

Kat has given an enormous amount back to parkrun over the years, including:

💙 194 times as Volunteer Coordinator
💙 133 Report Writer credits
💙 122 times as Event Director
💙 45 times as Run Director

…plus photography, token sorting, finish tokens, tail walking, course checking, marshalling, parkwalking, barcode scanning and more.

Anyone who has been around Gungahlin parkrun for a while will know just how much Kat has contributed behind the scenes as well as out on the course.

And beyond parkrun, Kat is a friend to so many, with a wonderful bunch of mates she always looks out for. She is also a super mum to three gorgeous kids who live and breathe so much of what she does, and a real-life superhero in her day job as a nurse. ❤️

500 runs + 405 volunteer credits is an extraordinary contribution to parkrun and to our community.
