Today we had two IMA students attend the 33rd ISKA NSW Open tournament at Liverpool.
(Max Abela) participated in his first BJJ Gi & No Gi grappling matches. Coming away with a Win & a few medals.
(Jim Dillon) participated in his first Light Kick Kickboxing match. Jim also had a win, however just missed out on a medal this time.
Both represented themselves & Team IMA at a high level. Job well done to both of you. Keep up the great work. Also thanks to the family & friends that came to watch & support Max & Jim.

It’s been great for Dylan’s confidence to learn Muay Thai. Not only is he keeping fit, but he’s also learning self-control. Thanks, Jason, for being such a positive influence as he grows up. I would have loved to have had this kind of training when I was a kid.

Well done to Marcus who competed in the 2026 Canberra international open for Judo at Goulburn today. Even though things didn’t go your way today. You put in a great effort, represented the club well and learnt some valuable lessons. 👏

Wow, what a fantastic week at IMA.
Congratulations to all students that graded in our last grading for 2025. The majority of students participated in our Karate grading, with one of our Judo students also grading this week.
In addition, I’m excited to announce that this week IMA graded our very first Freestyle Practical Karate Black Belt!
Congratulations to Riley O’Connell, well deserved.
