The NDTA & Narrabri Tennis are pleased to announce that they will be holding the singles junior club championships on Sunday 25th October.

This event is a great opportunity to take the next step beyond coaching and Friday matchplay. It’s where we bring everything together and connect the dots from your coaching lessons, putting those skills into practice in a fun and supportive tournament environment.

You’ll have the opportunity to play against other members of the Narrabri Club in a round-robin format, gaining valuable matchplay experience while enjoying some friendly competition.

Whether it’s your first tournament or you’re looking to build on your existing matchplay experience, everyone is welcome!

Age Divisions will be open for both boys & girls in the 8/U, 10/U, 12/U, 14/U, 16/U and 18/U to determine the singles champion.
These divisions are based on your age as of 31st December 2026.

8/U will use red balls and mini courts to allow easier matchplay.

A BBQ will be running on the day.

Nominate by letting Narrabri Tennis know or by signing up on the sheet inside the clubhouse.

🎾 School Tennis Program 🎾

We’re excited to be back at St Francis Xavier Narrabri delivering another in-school tennis program this term!

There’s nothing better than seeing students getting active, building confidence, and developing new skills on court.

From first forehands to rally challenges, every session focuses on fun warm-up games, skill development and plenty of game time.

We’re looking forward to another fantastic block of energy, learning, and fun over the coming weeks.

We love partnering with schools to bring structured, high-energy tennis programs directly to students during school hours.

🎾 School Tennis Program 🎾

Narrabri Tennis had the opportunity to deliver its first ever school program to the students of St Joseph’s Primary School, Walgett this term.

It was so much fun, and it was awesome to see the students getting involved, trying something different, and having a crack at developing their tennis skills.

It was great to see everyone getting active, giving it a go, and enjoying themselves along the way!

Narrabri Tennis loves partnering with schools from across the shire to bring structured tennis programs during school hours.

🎾 Narrabri Tennis athletes representative honours 🎾

2 Narrabri Tennis athletes have recently been active on the tennis circuit.

Sophie was part of the school team that participated in the New South Wales Combined Catholic Colleges Tennis Team Championships in Bathurst.
Playing against teams from all over the state, Sophie’s team managed to finish 3rd.

Charlotte was chosen to represent the U13s North West Team to participate in the Regional State League Finals in Newcastle.

These extra events are always such an awesome learning curve!

Well done to both girls and keep working hard both on and off court!!

🎾 Holiday Entertainment 🎾

Looking to get the kids active these holidays! Our sensational holiday clinic will happen in the 1st week of the holidays.

Join us for our school holiday clinic! You can sign up for the full 4-day adventure or choose to attend for 1, 2, or 3 days.

Instead of spending the day in front of a screen jump on court and develop some tennis skills whilst having fun, even if you have never picked up a racquet before.

Our clinic has an awesome coaching team providing a mix of good chat, fun, games, technical, tactical and physical activities.

Narrabri RMS #2

Last Sunday NDTA & Narrabri Tennis had the pleasure of hosting their second RMS for the year. This one was originally scheduled for earlier this year but rain intervened.
Th weather tried to beat us again but using only the 6 grass courts we managed to run a full sized event with staggered starts to control the flow of play.

Sensational results from the Narrabri Tennis athletes that took the next step into tournament matchplay.

🎾 Todd Woodbridge Cup - Stage 3 🎾

On Monday 17th August, the Dangar Park Tennis Centre held the Narrabri edition of The Todd Woodbridge Cup Stage 3.

We had 16 modified courts using orange balls in action, with 8 teams and around 70 kids participating in this annual event.

It was a battle amongst the Narrabri schools with Narrabri West entering 3 teams, Narrabri Public 3 teams and St Francis Xavier entering 2 teams. We also had 3 Wee Waa reps from St Joseph’s playing.

Teams were divided up into two pools and rallied out round robin matches to determine out finalists.

SFX #1 and West #1 served, volleyed and rallied it out in the Grand Final.

Congratulations to SFX #1 who prevailed in the final.

Both finalists move onto the next round in Gunnedah.

A huge well done to all the players for making it a memorable day. Also the High School helpers that controlled the scoring , legends!

Tennis and participation were the real winners!

All schools bookmark, Term 3 next year when we will hold the event again.

What a sensational day of tennis!!!

Monday 10th August the Dangar Park Tennis Centre held the Narrabri edition of 2026 Todd Woodbridge Cup (Stage 2).

We had 24 mini courts in action with 11 teams with around 100 taking part in this annual event.

It was a battle amongst the Narrabri schools with Narrabri West entering 5 teams, Narrabri Public 3 teams and St Francis Xavier entering 3 teams into the event. We also had a player from Wee Waa competing.

The teams were divided into two pools and played several rounds to work out the winners of each pool.
Narrabri West #1 and St Francis Xavier #1 rallied it out in the grand final.

Congratulations to Narrabri West #1 who prevailed in the final!

Both finalists will now advance and will now play the next round being the Regional Final in Gunnedah.

A huge thanks to our High School volunteers that helped make the event awesome with their on court help and other jobs. Legends!

Well done to all players involved in making it a great day. Tennis was the winner.

All schools bookmark this time of year for next year when we will hold this event again.
