2 Wins for Monsters inc tonight on MuayThai Super Series Australia

Georgia was first up in a good match up coming through with a strong win. She fought smart and aggressive letting her hands go more than usual ultimately winning via left kicks and good clinch work.

Up next was Cam who lost the first round to a super aggressive opponent with good hands. Cam showed great composure winning rounds 2 and 3 with sharp kicks on the forward coming opponent and dominating in the clinch.

Congratulations to Cam who also walked away with the Most Promising Fighter Award 🏆

Excellent work guys tonight you showed the work in the gym coming through both getting stronger and more capable!

Thank you to Clive and Liam for your help in the corner as usual a smooth operation and for the Monsters inc team for coming out to show your support and helping to build these guys up in the gym.

Next up we got Cam again, Noah and Liam on the new Ascendance promotion November 7 so keep your eyes peeled!

Thanks to Super Series for having us on the show 🙏

🥊 PREPARING FOR INTERCLUBS
Interclubs are a great way to test what you've been learning and gain experience outside of your own gym.
But we don't want them to be something you simply put your hand up for and turn up on the day to give it a shot.

We want an interclub to be a goal you work towards.

🥊 BEFORE WE PUT YOUR NAME DOWN
We want to see consistent training week to week, regular sparring, improvement, listening to feedback and good technique and control.
You don't need to be the best or the hardest worker. We just need to see that you're progressing and show your ready for the experience.

🔥 ONCE YOUR NAME IS DOWN
We generally have around four weeks to prepare. Use them.
Train consistently. Watch your diet. Work on what your coaches are giving you and where possible, arrive early and run before training.
It's not about turning it into a fight camp. It's about learning to set a goal, prepare for it and turn up knowing you've done the work.

🦍 ON THE DAY
You're not only representing yourself, you're representing your gym, so take pride in that.
Don't come out trying to prove something. Use the first round to feel out your opponent and find the level you're both at, then allow the intensity to build while maintaining control.
No ego. No showboating. No trying to "win".
The goal is to have the best quality sparring match possible. Test your Muay Thai, experience a different style and learn from each other.
If you both walk away challenged and having learned something, that's a successful interclub.

We arrive as a team, support each other and stay until our last teammate has finished.

🥊 WANT TO FIGHT ONE DAY?
Interclubs are the perfect learning platform. The preparation, nerves, listening to your coaches and performing against someone unfamiliar — it's all practice.
And if you never want to fight but want to challenge yourself at interclubs, that's completely fine too.
Either way: set the goal, prepare properly and make the experience mean something.

If you have any questions about interclubs or what you need to work on, come see me. I'm always available for a chat.

🥊 SPARRING AT MONSTERS INC

We want our sparring sessions to be a place where everyone improves and learns to use Muay Thai properly.

Sparring isn't about putting gloves on and throwing random punches and kicks at each other. It's where you learn to actually apply your Muay Thai — timing, distance, defence, technique, control and composure.

To make sure everyone is sparring at the appropriate level and getting quality rounds, we're putting some clear requirements in place.

TO ATTEND SPARRING:
🥊 Full membership required
🥊 Minimum 3 regular Muay Thai classes per week outside of sparring
🥊 Coach approval
🥊 16oz gloves + shin guards
🥊 Mouthguard + groin guard
🥊 Clean equipment, good hygiene + trimmed nails

NEWER TO MUAY THAI?
If you're within your first 12 months of training, you must regularly attend our Sparring Fundamentals class on Saturday 9-9:30am before you commence the Tuesday night all levels sparring class.

👉 This is where you'll learn how to spar properly — control, defence, distance, timing and how to apply the techniques you're learning in class.

WHEN YOU SPAR:
🥋 Control your power.
🥋 Use your technique.
🥋 Listen to your coaches.
🥋 Match the level of your training partner.
🥋 Look after each other.
🥋 Leave your ego at the door.

Sparring isn't a fight, and it isn't about winning the rounds. It's about improving, experimenting and learning how to apply the art of Muay Thai as you learn it.

👉 The person across from you is your training partner, not your opponent.

🔥 FRIDAY NIGHT SPARRING

Friday Night Sparring is INVITE ONLY.

This is our higher-level session where invited members spar alongside our fight team, so more is expected from those attending.

🏃 Team Run — 5:00PM
🥊 Sparring — 5:30PM

If you're invited to Friday night sparring, the run is compulsory.

Higher level. Higher standard. More expected.

If you're unsure about any of the new requirements or where you currently sit level-wise, come and speak to Head Coach James. I'm always available to answer questions and help make sure you're training in the right class for your level.

WHY CONSISTENCY MATTERS FOR KIDS

Like anything, the more consistently they practice, the more they get out of their Muay Thai classes.

🥊 Developing skills & technique
Repetition is important. Training consistently helps the basics stick, allowing kids to learn new techniques and progress much faster.

🤝 Making friends
The more they come to class, the more comfortable they become with their training partners. They build friendships, find people they enjoy partnering with and generally have a lot more fun at training.

💪 Fitness & conditioning
Muay Thai is hard work! Even for little kids. The more consistently they train, the fitter and stronger they become. Training starts to feel easier and they can focus more on learning and enjoying themselves.

📈 Keeping their progress moving
Long gaps between sessions can mean going back over things they've already learned. Consistency keeps the momentum going and allows them to keep building on their skills.

⭐ Confidence & discipline
As kids see themselves improving, their confidence grows. Regular training also teaches them the value of routine, commitment and putting in the work to get better.

📅 We understand every family's schedule is different, but if you can get them here 3 times a week, we highly recommend it. Of course, any training is better than no training, but the biggest thing is keeping it consistent from week to week.

👉 Also do your best to avoid stopping and starting their training. Long breaks and inconsistent attendance can really slow their progress and affect their motivation to come to class. When kids are training regularly, they improve, feel more confident and generally enjoy their Muay Thai a lot more.

The difference consistency makes over time is huge.

Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep improving. 🥊
