New class upload to YouTube: 1:2 Breath / Ladder Breath Pranayama with Julie (7 minutes)
1:2 Breath (also known as Ladder Breath) is generally a soothing pranayama practice, but can be used to increase lung capacity and encourage mental clarity.

It involves staying with a 1:2 ratio, with the exhale being twice as long as the inhale. In this practice, we will build on the breath, like a ladder:
Inhale for 2 seconds | Exhale for 4 seconds x 2
Inhale for 3 seconds | Exhale for 6 seconds x 2
Inhale for 4 seconds | Exhale for 8 seconds x 2
Inhale for 5 seconds | Exhale for 10 seconds x 2

Happy New Year memes

Happy new year from us at Always Yoga. You might have noticed we’re a little quieter since closing the online studio, but we’re still here. We’re just taking some well earned rest and trying to carve out some peace and presence in our lives.

Emilie had her baby boy back in February, and he’s now 10 months old!
Julie’s been busy with work and zipping back and forth to Melbourne a few times to see family.
We’re still yapping away every day, as usual.

Did you know that we have a bunch of classes on YouTube now, so you can still practice with us for free? We release a new class every fortnight - next one coming this Sunday. Link in our bio to find the classes and to subscribe.

Whatever kind of year 2025 was for you, we hope there were some glimmers, and many more to come in 2026 💛
