🏁 AKC Shakedown - Run and Won! 🏁

🌴 What a fantastic weekend at Townsville Kart Club with the AKC Shakedown now officially run and won!

Drivers made the most of every session, clocking up plenty of laps as they continue preparations for the Australian Kart Championship which will be held right here at our very own track this July. The pace was quick 💨the racing was competitive 💪🏻 and the excitement is certainly building as we count down to the big event.

A huge thank you goes to our amazing officials and volunteers who continue to put their hands up for every race meeting to ensure our drivers can get out on track and race. We appreciate every single one of you - you know who you are 🧡 With AKC preparations in full swing, the workload behind the scenes has tripled but your commitment and support never waver. Townsville Kart Club simply couldn’t do it without you.

Shout out to Katrice and Emerson Mills for offering to run the out-grid across both days. Your help was greatly appreciated and assisted with the smooth running of the event throughout the weekend.

After an awesome Round 1 at Whitsundays, we’re ready to send it again for **Round 2 of the NQ Series 2026** at **Mareeba, North Queensland** on **Saturday June 13th**. 🏁

🚨 **IMPORTANT NOTICE — NO CAMPING AVAILABLE AT THE TRACK** 🚨
Unfortunately, camping at the track will **not** be available for Round 2. This is out of our hands, but we wanted to make sure everyone knows early so they can organise accommodation and travel plans.

KARTING AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCES TYRE SUPPLIERS FOR 2027-2031

The Board of Karting Australia has confirmed the appointment of Maxxis and Vega as the tyre suppliers for Karting Australia sanctioned competition from January 1, 2027, through to December 31, 2031.

This outcome follows an extensive tender and evaluation process undertaken over the past 18 months by Karting Australia management and directors.
