🏆⚽ Junior Player of the Year ⚽🏆 ♦️Rosalie Elliott - Under 12 Girls ♦️

Voted on weekly by our coaches across all games, The Junior Player of the Year Award recognises consistency, effort and impact on the field.

👏👏This year's recipient is Rosalie (Rosie) Elliott, Under 12 Girls.

As a striker Rosie is always a threat going forward, but just as impressive was her willingness to track back, defend and help her team. You’d even see her stepping up to take goal kicks!

With a powerful kick, great dribbling skills and a fearless mindset, she doesn’t care who the opposition is, if there’s a ball to be won, she’s going for it! 💪⚽

Her love for soccer shines every time she plays, and she’s a fantastic example of the talent coming through our female junior ranks at WDFC.

Congratulations, Rosie, a very deserving Junior Player of the Year! 🏆👏

Upcoming information for Rep trials this Saturday at La Trobe.

Message from TD about rep trials:

Hello everyone, such an amazing response with close to 500 kids registered for the AWFA Rep trials. With these numbers, this Saturday is going to be very busy with a majority of the teams trialling.
I ask that players and parents do the following:

1. Turn up at least 30 minutes before your trial to get name marked off and number from registration area as shown on the map.
2. Bring a water bottle, hat, sunscreen and any medications that your child may require.
3. Once marked off head over to your area as per the map. Players will keep same number for all trials.
4. Parents to stay off the fields please.
5. Any questions or concerns please reach out to myself or the coach at the end of the session.
6. Returning rep players are not to wear any rep gear from previous years, this includes, playing shirt, shorts, hat, socks, tracksuit or training shirt.

These are fantastic numbers and it is great to see so many players putting their hands up to be a part of our very rewarding AWFA rep program.

⚽GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR ⚽

♦️Noah Niksic - U14 Boys♦️

After sharing the goalkeeping role in 2025, Noah stepped up as the full-time U14 boys goalkeeper in 2026, and what a year it has been!

This year Noah has also played AWFA representative football, and was invited to compete in Singapore, representing the Border region with a local side at the international JSSL 7s tournament.

Following these opportunities, Noah was nominated for the Football NSW Talent Support Program, earning a place in the final 40 players vying for selection in the Regional NSW squad. While he narrowly missed out, it only motivated him to keep working and give his best for Wodonga Diamonds.

Conceding just 13 goals for the entire season and producing an incredible three penalty saves in the semi-final, Noah played a huge part in helping his team reach the 2026 Cup Final.

His growth this season has been nothing short of exceptional. It’s a testament to his hard work, dedication and commitment to continually improving, not just for himself, but for his teammates and the club.

A fantastic season and a very deserving Goalkeeper of the Year! 👏👏👏
