&Juliet was my first time creating choreography for a major dancey production, and it’s been nominated for a Georgy award! It was a huge jump for me, and I’d never done anything like it before.
I often think about how I could’ve made my things so much better, and when people tell me how amazing my choreography was, I have to resist the urge to argue with them.
But I really did do my best at that time and learned A LOT. I am proud of myself, and I’m very grateful to be nominated for an award.
Im also very happy to see a nom for best ensemble, and multiple of our cast and crew members in different sections! I was always blown away by the talent. It’s such a high energy show that HAS to be tied together by the ensemble. They were very patient with me and worked really hard.
And great to see Jackie and Charlie nominated for their roles Cinderella. Absolute banger of a show.
&Juliet had 3 choreographers - Me, Susan, and Carly. Carly came on board when I was feeling overwhelmed with all the big numbers, and took 3 of those off my shoulders. You could even say i had one less problem.
You cant do Problem/Cant Feel My Face and not be listed as a nominee, so lets see that fixed. I wasn’t listed in the Come From Away choreography nomination last year despite doing 7 numbers. ‘Assistant’ choreographers contribute and deserve to be recognised.
A huge congratulations to all the cast and crew. This was such a huge show with a lot of talent, and Im so glad to have met some really lovely people along the way.💖
