Our inaugural Junior Hoopers season was a huge success, becoming our fastest-growing program to date. It has quickly become the go-to opportunity for young athletes to get introduced to basketball in a fun, supportive, and structured environment. **We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our girls’ basketball program here at West Abby Hoops!**

Coach Thompson:

We would like to introduce Coach Amanda Thompson. A W.J. Mouat graduate, Coach Thompson led her team to a BC championship before continuing her basketball career at The University of Fraser Valley (U SPORTS) from 2015 to 2020. With over 10 years of coaching experience across multiple clubs, she’s now leading the senior girls’ basketball program at Rick Hansen. We couldn’t be more excited to have her on board! Coach Thompson has also been a teacher at Hansen where she has been able to have a positive impact on girls athletics at the school

Coach Sim:

We’re excited to announce Coach Simran Sidhu, who will also be leading our girls’ program! Coach Sim played her high school basketball at Rick Hansen Secondary, and after graduating, she began coaching at both Hansen and Reimer. We’re incredibly fortunate to have her on board, as she has been a positive role model for young girls in the community. Currently, Coach Sim coaches the Grade 8 girls at Reimer and has also been a dedicated teacher at the school for several years. We’re thrilled to have her expertise and passion on our team.

West Abby U12s .. These boys are making great progress. Excited to keep stacking days with this group and grow in the near future.
