Due to heatwave (47⁰C expected! 😲🥵🔥🫠), Steelheads & Strikes will open and crank the AC from 11am-9pm on Canada Day.

If you were hoping to have fun with friends or family, but can't risk those crazy temperatures, we've got you.

For 🍁Canada Day🍁 ONLY, we are relaxing our outside food policies, because we know a lot of folks will try to hack a day at beach/park and be forced to change those plans.
-We will allow home packed, picnic style foods and snacks, etc.
-We will NOT allow restaurant takeout / deliveries.
-For clarification ahead of time, simply message us here on FB messenger

We have a great selection of fun, chilled beverages, but we encourage people to bring their own water bottles, and we LOVE seeing people enjoying their favourite INDEPENDENT downtown cafes' goodies, so those are always welcome.

On Saturday, head to the Airport for the fly-in breakfast, book the teens in for bowling while you check out the Downtown Shop, Union 108 Open House, and the Downtown Scavenger Hunt.

On Sunday, stop by Sandee's for brunch or your visit to the Sunday Market.

The sun's gone down on our (mostly original-ish) ancient Mendes/Leidl pinsetters for who knows how many thousands of days. 🤷

These heavily over-engineered marvels - these mindnumbingly overly-complicated torture devices! - have somehow managed to survive and thrive for DECADES longer than most bowling centers have even been open!

Held together - and repeatedly revived - with more jury-rigged modifications than any MacGyver episode, these old war horses embody a stoic durability we just don't see in modern manufacturing.

And, this morning, the sun rose on their newest modification upgrade; their latest incarnation.
Gone are the wonderfully steampunk styled pneumatic (air) control boards...and in their place we've got bonifide electronic control boards!

Install went swimmingly and we're currently in play test mode. Bear with us over the next week as we get everything dialed in, but we're confident the community is going to enjoy smoother operating machines with fewer..."quirks".

Don't worry though, Lane 3 is still DEFINITELY haunted 👻

PS: Matthew apologizes to all the guests who get a kick out of watching him sprint down the building to clear frequent jams and tangles. Those trips will be significantly rarer, now. 😝

We’re hosting a Bowl-A-Thon for Special Olympics on Sunday, April 26th at Steelheads & Strikes. It’s a full day of bowling, food, and community support.

Teams of 5–6 players
$20 per person (includes bowling, shoe rental, pizza, and a drink)
Each participant is asked to try to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges

Spots still available:
10:00 – 11:30 — 4 spots
11:30 – 1:00 — 5 spots
1:00 – 2:30 — FULL
2:30 – 4:00 — FULL
4:00 – 5:30 — 6 spots

Pizza will be served halfway through your session. (The first time slot will receive fruit, muffins, and drinks.)

Please arrive 10 minutes early to get your shoes and be ready to start on time. Space is limited, so start and end times must be followed throughout the day.

This event supports all Special Olympics participants in our community — not just our bowling athletes — and we would love to see the lanes full.

Another great Rock n Bowl evening coming up (2 of them in fact!)

Sorry we couldn't offer Rock n Bowl the last few weeks, we've had a surprising number of private party bookings over the last month!
But hey, we're not complaining - we're just thankful the space continues to be filled with fun groups, having a blast!

To make up for it, this week we're running Rock n Bowl both Friday AND Saturday evenings, and heck, probably even Sunday afternoon too!

And let's make it extra fun - RAFFLE TIME!!
Pretty simple really, everyone who bowls a 🦃 Turkey (that's 3 consecutive strikes for the newbs) all weekend long, automatically gets THREE tickets for our draw.

Can you stack multiple turkeys across a few games, and end up with a mitt full of raffle tickets?! Yes, you absolutely can!

How else can you get into this draw?

Bowl a Strike - Shout out your song request.
If we see other bowlers enjoying your song, singing or boppin' along, we'll automatically hand you a ticket for our upcoming draw. Get the place goovin' repeatedly and we're gonna give you extra tickets, for sure.

When is the draw taking place? We'll draw the winner (and maybe even a bonus winner - or 2) during our Tuesday Night Strike13 League on Tues April 14, around 7pm-ish.
