Amanda joined OTF in 2024 and has completed over 300 workouts! She gives it her all for every class and challenge, and even made waves with us at the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival this year. We're so proud of her determination and willingness to trust the process and try something new. We asked her to share a bit about her journey with us:
Why did you choose Orangetheory Fitness to help you achieve your goals?
"Traditional gyms always felt a bit isolating to me, making it easy to skip workouts. Orangetheory changed that entirely. From day one, the sense of community, the incredible people, and the supportive staff made all the difference in keeping me motivated and feeling welcome."
What is your favourite part of the workout?
"There are definitely days when I don't feel like going, and a whole hour of working out feels daunting. But I've learned that once I'm actually there, that feeling completely fades. My absolute favourite part is that rushing sense of accomplishment; every single time I finish a workout, I’m so happy I went."
How has OTF impacted your life?
"When I was younger, I used to be very active and thin, but after losing my mom, the grief and stress took a heavy toll on my mind and body, and I gained weight. Joining OTF has given me back my health. I may not look the way I used to, but I feel and move better, I’m stronger, and my cardio has improved immensely. I’m just going to keep pushing forward."
What advice do you have for others?
"Give yourself grace and don't overthink it. The hardest part is almost always just showing up. Treat your classes like important appointments you can't cancel on yourself, and trust that once you're inside, the hardest part is already behind you."
