Congrats to our kids and youth from Champion’s Creed who all represented themselves with skill and sportsmanship as they stepped onto the mat to compete today. Huge thank you to Canadian Martial Arts Centre for hosting a fun and professionally run BJJ tournament today.

What a day on the mats! 🥊 🔥

Today we held our in house continuous Muay Thai tournament, bringing our members from our North and South gyms, and the turnout was fantastic! Alliance is one of our core values, which we define as building synergy by being aligned on a shared mission. Seeing both gyms share the mats today, pushing each other and cheering their teammates on was exactly that! 🤝

Stepping up to compete takes courage. Our members faced their fears, put themselves under pressure, and found out how their skills hold up when it counts. Improvement is another one of our core values, and we define it as an insatiable desire for growth. We saw this in every match today.

To everyone who shows up and tested themselves, Congratulations! Win or learn, you stepped up and put your skills on the line, and that is something to be proud of.

A massive thank you to our dedicated volunteers, who made the whole event run smoothly! At Champion’s Creed we aim to run every event at a World Class standard. We start on time, finish on time, and keep everyone safe and supported throughout. You made that happen!

Two gyms, one tribe, and a whole lot of growth for one day. Thanks to everyone who came out!!

🥋 Confidence grows when kids are given the chance to try.

In this clip, one of our students demonstrates a hip toss while Coach steps in with a few small adjustments to help sharpen the technique.

They don’t need to get every detail perfect right away. What matters is being willing to step up, give it a shot, listen to feedback, and keep improving. 👊

At Champion’s Creed we want kids to learn that progress comes from trying, being coached, and getting a little better each time they step on the mats.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Share this with a parent who’d love this kind of environment for their child.

Technical or Trash? 🥊🗑️

At Champion's Creed, we have a saying: **“The most important person in the gym is your partner.”**

Sparring isn’t about winning rounds or proving who’s tougher. It’s about learning, improving your technique, and giving your training partners the opportunity to do the same.

That means training with control, respecting the people across from you, and taking care of each other so everyone can keep showing up and getting better.

If you want to learn from the best while in a safe and welcoming environment, come train with world-class coaches at Champion's Creed 👊

📍SW Calgary: 119 – 42nd Avenue SW
📍NW Calgary: 5720 Silver Springs Blvd NW

📩 Share this with a training partner who always takes care of you in sparring.

🥋 Ask kids what they love about Jiu-Jitsu, and you might be surprised by the answers.

We asked some of our students their favourite thing about training at Champion’s Creed — and no two answers were exactly the same.

For some, it’s knowing they can defend themselves. 💪
For others, it’s learning new skills, having fun, and getting to train alongside their friends. 🤝

There’s so much kids can get from Jiu-Jitsu that parents might never expect when they first sign them up.

Confidence. Friendships. New skills. A sense of belonging. And, of course, some pretty great Jiu-Jitsu. 🥋

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Share this with a parent who might be surprised by what their child could get out of Jiu-Jitsu.

Bad self-defence training can be worse than no training at all.

Techniques that only work when your partner cooperates can create a dangerous sense of confidence, especially when you’ve never tested them against real resistance.

UFC bantamweight Chad Anheliger breaks down why this “McDojo” rear naked choke defence falls apart and why the techniques you’re paying to learn should actually work when someone is fighting back.

Want to build real skills you can actually rely on?

Come train with world-class coaches at Champion's Creed 👊
