📰✅News about the testing we did at the World Race Walking Team Championships in Brasilia. 🚶🏼🚶♀️🚶♂️
Theracewalkchip
The Race Walk Chip is an innovative technology designed to measure loss of contact in real time during race walking.
A quick update on our testing of the RWECS chip.
🚶🚶♀️The Race Walking Electronic Control System (RWECS) was tested during the women’s half-marathon at the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships in Brasília on April 12.
👣During the event, more than 1️⃣ million steps were recorded as part of a large-scale data collection and system evaluation effort.
💻The data are currently being analysed for quality and consistency and compared against high-speed and high-resolution video captured during the race.
🧐The individual results will not be published. They will be combined and used internally to further improve the technology. Once the analysis is complete, a summary statement will be released.
🙏The research team thanks the athletes for their support and cooperation throughout the testing process.
👏It also welcomes the strong interest and discussion about the loss of contact threshold. The seminar held in Brasília the day before the test event, and the accompanying video published online, are part of the working group’s efforts to share information and encourage constructive feedback from all stakeholders.
📄Any proposals submitted to World Athletics will be based on careful research and detailed analysis of the data collected, along with ongoing communication and feedback from the race walking community.
📆The next test is scheduled for the World Under-20 Championships in Eugene this August.
‼️A pre-sale of prototype Race Walk Training Chips will be announced within the next month. More details will follow.
