The Dartmouth Curling Club is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Part-Time Bartender to join our team. As an important part of our club atmosphere, you will help create a welcoming experience for members, guests, league participants, and event attendees.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a community-focused environment and is available for evening and weekend shifts throughout the curling season.
Key Responsibilities:
🔸 Greet members and guests in a professional and friendly manner.
🔸 Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages responsibly.
🔸 Operate a cash register and accurately process cash, debit, and credit transactions.
🔸 Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area.
🔸 Follow all Nova Scotia liquor regulations and responsible beverage service standards.
🔸 Monitor alcohol consumption and refuse service when required by law and policy.
🔸 Assist with club events, bonspiels, tournaments, social functions, and rentals.
🔸 Complete opening and closing duties, including cleaning, inventory checks, and cash reconciliation.
🔸 Restock beverages, supplies, glassware, and snack items as required.
🔸 Provide exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive club atmosphere.
Qualifications:
▪️ Previous bartending, hospitality, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
▪️ Valid Nova Scotia alcohol service certification (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
▪️ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
▪️ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks during busy periods.
▪️ Experience handling cash and Debit/Credit systems is an asset.
▪️ Reliable, punctual, and professional.
▪️ Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Typical shifts may include:
🔹 Weekday evenings
🔹 Friday nights
🔹 Saturdays and Sundays
🔹 Special events, bonspiels, tournaments, and club functions
