When Paul MacIsaac was six years old, his parents took him to learn how to play hockey along with dozens of other youngsters at the old Antigonish Arena. He lasted long enough to know it wasn’t for him. But the game of basketball – that was a different story.

Congratulations to the Cleve's Source for Sports July 2026 Impact Award Winner Lilly Rainham!

⛵️ Following a significant knee injury, Lilly had to spend ten months away from competitive sailing. Despite the physical and mental challenges of a lengthy recovery, she remained committed to her rehabilitation and worked tirelessly to return to competition.

Her perseverance was rewarded at the 2026 International Laser Class Association (ILCA) Canadian Championship in June, where she earned the silver medal in the ILCA 6 women’s division and the bronze medal overall.

Growing the Reach of Karate Through Inclusion - The Sport Section 07/30/2026

Para karate is an emerging sport with a small athlete community in Halifax, but it has seen great growth thanks to dedicated coaches and sport leaders rallying behind it.
