The installation process of the GEM 3D SuperGradiometer at the CONRAD Observatory GMO in Austria 08/05/2026

Precision matters—especially when you're measuring the Earth's magnetic field.

The CONRAD Geomagnetic Observatory was designed to push the boundaries of geomagnetic research. Equipped with three GEM Systems SuperGradiometers, the observatory is capable of measuring magnetic field gradients in the femtotesla (fT) range, enabling researchers to study subtle variations in the Earth's magnetic field with exceptional sensitivity.

By combining north-south, east-west, and vertical gradient measurements, the observatory supports advanced research into geomagnetic processes and their effects on our planet—demonstrating what's possible when cutting-edge instrumentation meets scientific discovery.

Watch the video to learn more about the CONRAD Geomagnetic Observatory and its groundbreaking magnetic measurement capabilities.

Bronco Resources Completes Ground Magnetic Survey at Placer Mountain Gold Project 08/03/2026

Sometimes, the best way to understand what's below the surface is to get boots on the ground.

Bronco Resources recently announced the completion of a ground magnetic survey at its Placer Mountain Gold Project in British Columbia using the industry-standard GSM-19 ground magnetometer. The survey produced higher-resolution magnetic imagery than previous airborne data, revealing structural trends and magnetic lineations that could be associated with gold-bearing zones. Based on these results, the company is expanding its ground magnetic program to further refine exploration targets.

It's another great example of how high-resolution ground magnetics continues to play an important role in modern mineral exploration—helping geoscientists build a clearer picture of the subsurface before drilling begins.

Magnetic Myth 🧲

Myth: Magnetic surveys only work for finding minerals.

Reality: Magnetics has applications far beyond mining.

Magnetic surveys are used for archaeology, unexploded ordnance (UXO) detection, groundwater studies, environmental investigations, infrastructure mapping, volcanology, and geomagnetic observatories—just to name a few.

One technology. Countless applications.

Why do so many exploration programs still use the GSM-19?

In an industry where technology is constantly evolving, some tools continue to earn their place in the field.

Recent technical reports for mineral exploration projects continue to specify the GEM Systems GSM-19 magnetometer as part of ground magnetic survey programs, thanks to its accuracy, reliability, and proven performance.

Whether mapping geological structures, identifying magnetic anomalies, or supporting target generation, high-quality magnetic data remains the foundation of successful exploration.

Decades after its introduction, the GSM-19 continues to help geophysicists collect the reliable field data that drives exploration forward.
