🙌 We're back in business! The pool & changerooms at the Delbrook Community Recreation Centre reopened this morning (Oct 14).

The hot tub remains closed until further notice due to a mechanical issue. Our team is working to resolve the issue, and we’re hoping to have it fixed as soon as possible.

🧐🛠️Wondering how the Delbrook pool maintenance is going?

👷Our crews have been hard at work:

– Cleaning out drains & catch basins
– Sealing all expansion joints
– Refurbishing & reinstalling pool pumps
– Installing a new chlorine injection pump
– Replacing plumbing & electrical components
– Finishing the overhead lighting upgrade
– Installing new shower units
– Maintaining the suspended ceiling structure
– Building brand new cedar sauna benches & walls (it smells amazing in there!)
– Installing a new rock heater in the sauna
– Cleaning, painting & more!

We've now started the multi-day process of refilling the pools, so we can get all our systems up & running again.

👀Here’s a peek at what crews have been up to so far:

- Replacing grout & expansion joints in all pools
- Deep-cleaning floats, buoys & equipment
- Stripping out old wooden walls & benches in the sauna
- Installing bright new ceiling lights
- Upgrading plumbing in the change rooms
- And lots more!

Our amazing maintenance & aquatics staff are working hard to get you back in the swim of things ASAP! Mark your calendars—the pool is set to reopen on October 14 and we can’t wait for you to dive back in!

The pool and change rooms at Delbrook Community Recreation Centre are now closed for some regular maintenance.
While the pools are empty, crews will be hard at work giving this much-loved facility some needed TLC by servicing and replacing equipment, completing repairs, painting and giving everything a deep clean. 🛠️ 🧼

⚠️Road work on West Queens Road near Delbrook Community Recreation Centre ⚠️
West Queens Road is being repaved from Edgemont Boulevard to Delbrook Avenue until approximately July 21. The majority of the work will take place at night from 6pm to 6am; however, single-lane alternating traffic and parking restrictions will be in place throughout the duration of this project.

The rainbow crosswalk will be removed, but not for long! 🌈

🌈Unfortunately, the rainbow crosswalk at West Queens Road and Del Rio Drive will be temporarily removed so we can upgrade the fibre optic infrastructure underground.

🎨Once this project is complete and West Queens Road is repaved, the rainbow crosswalk will be restored and will continue to sparkle as an important symbol that all are welcome in our community.
