Like Ms. Frizzle, Warren is about to embark on an unforgettable adventure—one filled with new experiences, great competition, and opportunities to showcase his skills on the national stage. From the prairies to the East Coast, this is one field trip you won’t want to miss!

So buckle up, make the right calls, trust your instincts, and remember Ms. Frizzle’s famous advice:

The Baseball Sask Umpire Committee would like to congratulate Scott Mills (Saskatoon) on his appointment as the Lead Supervisor of Umpires for the 2026 Baseball Canada 19U Women’s National Championship in Saskatoon.

Much like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Scott’s leadership, experience, and calm presence have helped guide and mentor countless umpires along their journey. As the Lead Supervisor, he’ll once again be there to provide wisdom, support, and direction when it’s needed most.

As Obi-Wan once said, “The Force will be with you… always.” We know Scott will be a steady presence throughout the championship as he helps ensure the next generation of umpires is set up for success.

May the Force be with you, Scott, as you lead this weekends umpiring crew on the national stage. We’re proud to have you representing our province!

The Baseball Sask Umpire Committee wishes Clayton Obst (Swift Current) the best of luck as he heads to the 2026 Baseball Canada 19U Women’s National Championship in Saskatoon to represent Saskatchewan’s umpiring program.

Professor Farnsworth would call this assignment “scientifically excellent,” Leela would trust him to make the right call under pressure, and even Bender would have to admit that earning a national championship assignment takes some serious skill… before reminding everyone that the celebration should include a stop at Arby’s because, after all, they have the meats!

From Swift Current to the national stage, Clayton has earned this opportunity through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to the craft of umpiring.

It’s that time of year again — Baseball Canada National Championships are here!

The first event of the championship season kicks off this week in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with the Canadian Women’s Championship.

Earlier this week, MLB Umpire Stu Scheurwater took time out in the morning to deliver 100 Build-A-Bear Workshop furry friends to sick children at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and then headed over to Truist Park to work a doubleheader. Thanks for going the distance for us, Stu!
