Yes, that’s a sheet of water on the freshly poured concrete. It’s needed to ensure the concrete does not dry too quickly and crack.
We are proud to recognize our winner of The Pour Contest, Jacob Gabriel (center) who guessed correctly the exact amount of concrete required for the new floor: 110 cubic meters. Congratulations!!

THE POUR IS ON!!! Many members came through the Club today to see the pouring of the concrete for the new floor. Big job for a busy crew and the levelling across the surface is +/- 1/4”. The winner of The Pour Contest will be announced on Friday.
Thanks to our generous donors, Bruce and Linda. The next generation of curlers on the Peninsula has a home to play the sport we love.

"The Pour Contest" is on!!! All Club members received an email invitation earlier regarding viewing of the concrete pour for the new curling floor this Wednesday, June 17th, from 9 am to 1 pm. The skill testing question for our contest is: How many cubic meters of concrete does it take to make the new floor!??? (Hint: the answer is somewhere between 1 and 1,000)
PACC members can submit their answers here on FB as a comment, in person at the Club on Wednesday, or email [email protected]. The winner will be announced on Thursday.
In addition to the pride of winning, the prize is the invaluable curling mug illustrated here with special magic power that provides the owner with the ability to never miss an open take-out!!!

Yesterday many curlers said good-bye to Chad Selje and his wife Kathleen, who completed their work in the area and are returning home. Chad started off in the PACC learn-to-curl 4 years ago and became a positive force in the evening men’s leagues on several teams. Good luck and hope to see you again!!
