People often ask what kind of yoga I teach.

And the truth is, it’s difficult to answer briefly.

Because the classes inside The Well are designed not simply as sequences of postures, but as immersive, embodied experiences.

Each week begins with a theme that is woven throughout the entire practice, through movement, sensation, imagery, nervous system awareness and Yoga Nidra.

Themes can vary wildly.
Sometimes the theme comes from philosophy.
Sometimes from nature.
Sometimes from a question about what it means to be human.
Sometimes it’s an organ.

The practice then becomes a way of moving those ideas and qualities out of the thinking mind and into lived, felt experience.

Not just understanding something intellectually, but sensing it directly in the body.

The forest itself becomes part of the practice too.
Rain on the roof.
Birdsong weaving into stillness.
Firelight flickering beside resting bodies.
Trees moving beyond the yurt walls.

Everything affects the nervous system.
Everything shapes the experience.

These classes are designed around presence, embodiment and connection.

Some people come to stretch.
Some come because something in them is longing to stop bracing and exhale.
This kind of practice tends to find the people who need it.

Some things cannot be understood fully through thinking alone.
They have to be felt in the body.

I guess that’s the type of yoga I teach.

🌀✨SPACE✨🌀

This week, we went on a space exploration, only to discover, that the space within us, and the space around us, is all part of the same vast field.

Space is not separate from you, it is you.

🌀✨NEW CLASS: ETHER; Spacious, Liminal, Still✨🌀

Ether is the element of space. In this practice, we move away from the sometimes relentless “doing” and into spacious “being”.

Here, the physical practice of yoga is not placed at the centre, although we do begin with some gentle movement to support us to drop into the body, and to allow the nervous system to settle.

We will explore the more subtle terrain and practices of yoga, including breath and meditation. We close with an extended yoga Nidra, supporting us to melt into the liminal space between sleep and wakeful awareness.

Join us, to come home to the space that has always been there.

Beginning Tuesday 21st April 2000-2100
Continuing weekly
Now open for booking, link in bio✨🌀

🌀I MET MY BODY🌀

Well, that was unexpected! Halfway through the mesmerising training with , and a poem poured through me. I have never written a poem before, or even had the inclination to do so. But these words emerged in such a way that I sensed they should be shared.

I have shared them in the only way I know how, through the imperfection of a “one and done” recording, and choosing authenticity over hesitation. If there is one thing Ta**ra and Yoga teach us, it is to follow the wise, sometimes quiet, voice within ✨

So here I AM, doing just that.

With great love,

Oh Bali 🫶 My 5th time stepping on the Island of the Gods, so called for a very good reason. This land has become one of my spiritual homes, the energies, the teachings, the devotion. A land where even cracks on the pavement serve as alters, a reminder that all is sacred.

Week one of the first module complete, we have moved from our fascia, dived into Ta**ra, yielded to Self, held each others hearts, connected with kidneys, cried puddles of tears on the temple floor, traced meridian lines through embryological development, chanted mantra, and have had mantra chant us. I am in awe of this work, the depth profound, and of course, as with any initiation of truth, life can never be the same.

Five weeks to go, hanging out in my back body, weaving webs of connection, inner and outer, micro and macro, through this permeable membrane of skin, REmembering: Everything is everything 🌀❤️‍🔥 xx

Grateful beyond words x

🌀UPDATE: FOREVER A STUDENT🌀
Sometimes the practice asks us to pause, to immerse, to go deeper….

A deepening of the practice has been calling, and I have listened. I’m heading to Bali for six weeks to study an advanced training in yoga, somatics, non-dual ta**ra, and embodied movement. It’s something that’s been calling for a long time, both personally and professionally.

Closing The Well for a short while isn’t a conventional choice, but The Well has never been built on convention. It was born from listening closely, from trusting what feels true, and from allowing space for growth to happen organically. If I hadn’t followed those nudges before, there would be no yurt in the forest, no community gathering there now 🌱🫶

This time away is about depth, integration, and renewal, mirroring some of the very core values of The Well. I can’t wait to weave what I learn back into the space, the offerings, the classes, and the community when I return.

A few practical notes:
🌀All class passes will be extended/topped up so nothing expires while I’m away
🌀The Well will reopen the week beginning 23rd February 2026
🌀The class schedule is already live
🌀A 6-week beginners course will also begin that week

Thank you for the trust, the support, and for being part of this unfolding. I’ll see you soon with a fuller cup, and much to share.

With great gratitude and love,

Catherine x

🌀SOLSTICE AND SPANDA🌀

The Winter Solstice is not a turning point we rush past.
It is a pause.

For a few days after the solstice, the light appears to stand still before it begins its slow return, the days not yet longer to the human eye, but there is movement alive beneath the surface.

In Kashmir Shaivism, this quiet stirring is known as Spanda, the subtle pulse of life that exists within stillness.
Not effort. Not force.
But the smallest initiation, the first whisper of movement after rest.

In classes this (and next!) week, we explore that pause, the moment at the end of the exhale, just as the inhale begins. We listen for what wants to move.
We follow tiny pulsations, barely perceptible, and notice the aliveness that is already there.

This is why we embody the cycles of nature, to remember that our bodies are not separate from them. That growth does not always look like striving. That light does not arrive by pushing darkness away, but by being born from it.

The practice serves as a remembering, that even in stillness, something is always quietly unfolding.

Happy Solstice loves, 🫶🌀
