U11s whites Missouri semi final belter!

The pumas started off a bit slow and could of seen ourselves behind twice in the first 10 mins, after there chances the pumas came out strong and battled.

Owen got the ball in centre of pitch and absolutely belted it home from the half way line and created to gap to help us gain the edge.

After half time we started of strong and applied the pressure but city of Sheffield whites gave us the pressure back and was a really great game. It ended up with the whites winning and ending up in there first final of the season 🤍⚽

Absolutely solid at the back and keeping everything out with outstanding tackles also them amazing dribbles to scare there defence. 🤍🏆

IN MEMORY OF ARCHIE HINDE NEARY

Before today’s game with Hoyland Common Falcons, the U11 Reds held a minutes silence to commemorate Archie Hinde Neary, who has sadly passed away this week after a courageous battle with cancer.

Archie had been part of a SDJSL member club City of Sheffield FC since he was just eight years old, the club remembers a much-loved boy whose kindness, thoughtfulness and laughter touched everyone around him.

City of Sheffield described Archie as “one of the nicest ever boys you could ever meet” and paid tribute to the strength and courage he showed throughout the past year.

PENALTY DRAMA IN THE OHIO CUP!!!

The U11 Reds fell to a penalty shootout defeat against a determined Hoyland Common Falcons side.

The Pumas started slowly and unfortunately found themselves behind after the defence failed the clear following a brilliant penalty save by Archie.

The second half started at a frantic pace and the Pumas drew level from a lovely strike from Jaxx, hitting the top corner with a curling effort. Unfortunately this lead didn’t last with Hoyland taking advantage of poor marking to retake the lead.

Cohen finished well to draw the game level and from that point it looked likely that it would be the Pumas who would take the win but good defending kept them out until the final whistle.

Extra time was end to end with both teams throwing everything at it in an attempt to avoid a penalty shootout. Unfortunately this couldn’t be avoided and Hoyland edged this 3-2.

All the players can be proud of themselves and those who stepped forward to take a penalty showed great bravery.

Player of the match was awarded to Joey for a brilliant defensive performance, driving his team forward from the back.

Cup - Sheffield United Junior Blades (A) 🔴⚫️

INTO THE FINAL WE GO! 🏆🔥

Today our U10’s travelled to SUJB Reds for a cup fixture against a side two divisions above us, and the boys showed exactly what we’re about.

We were the better team on the day, playing some brilliant football and creating plenty of chances. Noah opened the scoring with a fantastic strike before setting up Jacob at the back post to make it 2-0. Logan, Charlie H and George also went close.

SUJB pulled one back in the second half, and their keeper saved a penalty to keep them in it, but the boys stayed strong under pressure.

Lou, Kaleb, Charlie B and Alfie all played their part in seeing us through.

Absolutely outstanding today. Noah dictated the game, found space, played superb through balls and was a constant problem for the opposition. A brilliant goal and assist to top it off.

🏆 Cup Game

Football can be frustrating, and it’s easy to blame the pitch, the referee, the opposition or even ourselves. But ultimately, we have to focus on what we can control and what we can do better.

In the first half, we simply didn’t switch on quickly enough. We were slow to react, looked unsure of ourselves and lacked the confidence to play our game. The 9-0 half-time score showed the quality of a side playing two divisions above us.

At half-time, we made changes, brought some fresh legs on and challenged the lads to reset and show a reaction. The response was much better, with the second half finishing 1-1. That reaction matters, and it’s something we can take into next week.

We go again in the league next week, and I want us to use today as motivation. We need to come back with fire in our bellies, ready to put things right. Hopefully, we haven’t picked up too many injuries along the way! 💪

Frankie showed real quality, determination and fighting spirit today. He wanted to make a difference and never stopped trying. The opposition clearly recognised his ability and gave him a tough time, but he kept getting back up and carrying on like the warrior he is. 💪🔴🔵

A new position for Reuben today, leading the line as a striker. We knew his pace could cause problems, and he certainly gave their defence something to think about! He used his pace brilliantly, showed great dribbling ability, stretched their back line and capped his performance with a fantastic goal. A well-deserved award! ⚽🔥

Pinfold Pumas U11s Blacks vs Maltby Main U11s

🔥 SEMI-FINAL SUCCESS! 🔥

WHAT A PERFORMANCE FROM THE PUMAS! ❤️🖤

The Pinfold Pumas U11s Blacks have booked their place in the FINAL after a massive victory over Maltby Main in a tense semi-final battle!

The Pumas came flying out of the blocks, storming into the lead thanks to a superb goal from George D! 💥 Maltby Main managed to find an equaliser, but George wasn’t finished there. He stepped up once again to grab his brace and send the Pumas into half-time with a crucial lead! ⚽⚽

The second half was a real test of character, with Maltby pushing hard to get back into the game. But the Pumas stood firm! The defensive determination on show was absolutely incredible, with Freddie J and Harper B turning into brick walls, throwing themselves into the battle and refusing to let Maltby through. 🧱💪

At the other end, Oliver G and Oliver S continued to keep Maltby on their toes and ensuring the Pumas remained a threat throughout the second half.

Every tackle, every clearance and every ounce of effort counted as the Blacks dug deep, battled together and defended their lead until the final whistle!

⭐ PARENT-VOTED PLAYER OF THE MATCH: GEORGE D! ⭐

A brilliant brace capped off an outstanding all-round performance. George was a constant attacking threat while also putting in a superb defensive shift. A thoroughly deserved award! 👏🏆

⚽️ Barnsley school girls &Treat night🍟

Tonight our U10’s were invited down to Dorothy Hyman to play Barnsley School Girls, giving the boys another great chance to test themselves.

A really good game played in great spirits between two teams wanting to play football.

The lads dominated much of the play and showed some brilliant football, scoring some great goals along the way.

Even as the goals went in, the boys kept doing what we ask of them, playing football and working for each other.

That was probably the best thing to see tonight. A cracking performance all round, and another good win.

🐾🔥 WHAT A SECOND-HALF SHOW FROM THE PUMAS! 🔥🐾

The Pumas produced an incredible performance against New Bohemians, with a second-half display that completely turned the game on its head!

The first half was a closely fought affair, with both teams battling hard and very little separating them. New Bohemians managed to take the lead in the 9th minute, leaving the Pumas with work to do heading into the break.

But whatever was said at half-time clearly worked, because the second half was a completely different story! 💪🐾

The Pumas came flying out of the blocks and George D got the comeback underway, finishing brilliantly after an assist from Oliver S. ⚽🔥

Then came a special moment as Ollie S bagged his first goal of the season, with James L providing the assist! 🙌⚽

The Pumas were now in full flight, and Oliver S added his first of the afternoon, assisted by George D.

Oliver wasn’t finished there either! He grabbed his second of the game, this time with Freddie J supplying the assist. 🔥🔥

And to put the cherry on top, Ollie S completed his brace with his second of the game, once again assisted by James L. What a way to finish it! 👏🐾

New Bohemians managed to find a second late on, but by then the damage had been done.

From being behind at half-time to producing a five-goal second-half masterclass, this was a performance every Pumas player can be incredibly proud of.

And the Player of the Match award couldn’t go to just one player today…

Gameweek 5 – Norton Woodseats (A)

Today our U10’s travelled to Norton looking to build on last week’s win.

We started brightly, moving the ball brilliantly and creating some great chances.

Noah got us off the mark with a free-kick straight into the top bins! We could’ve extended our lead, but couldn’t quite find the finish . At the other end Alfie produced a superb last-ditch challenge to prevent Norton equalising on the break.

Unfortunately a brief lapse in concentration allowed Norton to equalise from a set piece, but the boys kept their heads, stuck to their football and got their reward.

Jacob found George in the box, who made no mistake to grab the winner.

A brilliant team victory built on hard work, togetherness and quality football.

Plenty of beaming smiles at full time ❤️
