Please note the next Free Black and Brown Belt Course and Dan Grading will take place on Sunday, 7th June, in Barnsley.
This course is open to all KUGB members 3rd Kyu and above.

Under the expert guidance of Sensei Jim Brennan, 8th Dan, and Sensei Frank Brennan, 8th Dan, KUGB members will train and attempt their Dan Gradings.

⏰ Training Time
10.30am - 12pm: Brown Belts Training
12pm - 1.30pm: Black Belts Training
2.30pm: Grading

IMPORTANT❗
🔴 Ensure your KUGB Licence is up to date.
🔴 This course is not just for those grading; Karateka of 3rd Kyu and above are welcome to attend.
🔴 Download the KUGB App from the App Store or Google Play. A step-by-step guide to registering is available at: www.kugb.org
🔴 Make sure your grading form is fully completed before attending, including a passport-sized photograph and your instructor's signed permission slip.
🔴 Gum shields and KUGB - approved white hand mitts are compulsory.

KUGB National Championships 2026

Sensei Mick Padgett was very proud and honoured to receive a special honorary award from Sensei Frank Brennan at the National Championships on Saturday.

On behalf of Barnsley SKC we would like to thank Sensei Mick for over 50 years of continuous dedication support and loyalty to the club and to the KUGB.

An excellent day at the KUGB National Championships in Nottingham. No medals this time but excellent performances in both kata and Kumite from Kiri and Akshara both performed with amazing spirit and commitment progressing though several rounds just missing out on the finals.
Well done George competing in kata a good performance never letting his autism hold him back.

Massive Congratulations Sensei Paul Parry for his KUGB LSM (Long Standing Member) 40 year award a brilliant achievement.

And a very unexpected surprise for our club Chief Instructor Sensei Mick Padgett who received a special award from Sensei Frank Brennan.

Thank you to the KUGB organisers, and officials for a smooth running event. Made extra special this year with the visiting Italian team who helped create a great day of karate. A very well deserved standing ovation from the spectators.
