Belfast based Local Community Running Club Finish lines, not finish times!

Wednesday Night Runners (WNR), formally became a Club in November 2022 after being a community based running group for approximately 4 years. We are very passionate about making running inclusive for all. Training usually on Wednesday evening, meeting at 6:45pm for 7pm start, details always confirmed by Admin in advance. 🌍💙 WNR SATURDAY ROUND UP! 💙🌍

Well… it’s Saturday, the sun is shining ☀️, the trainers are on 👟 and once again the WNR blue shirts have been spotted absolutely everywhere! 😂💙

🌏 FIRST STOP… THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD! 🇯🇵

We said we wanted to take WNR global… and Donal & Claire clearly took that VERY seriously! 😂✈️

The WNR blue shirts made their way all the way to Unoki, Japan 🇯🇵 this morning for parkrun! 🌸🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We’re not sure if they were there for the running, the sightseeing or simply to make sure the WNR brand went international… but either way, what an adventure! 😂👏💙

🇯🇵 WNR – now officially an international running club! 🌍😂

What a milestone! 🥳🎉👏

Leanne celebrated her incredible 250th parkrun at Waterworks this morning, and of course the WNR crew were out in force to make sure she didn’t get away with it quietly! 😂💙

There was LOTS of club support, plenty of cheers, loads of smiles and, naturally, a whole heap of PBs thrown into the mix! 🔔🏃‍♀️💨

A huge Wednesday Night Runners shoutout to our young superstar Charlie, who completed his 100th Junior Parkrun yesterday at Lough Moss! 🎉🙌

And what a way to celebrate such a fantastic milestone… Charlie crossed the finish line in 1st place with an incredible time of 8 minutes 3 seconds! 🥇👏

100 Junior Parkruns is a brilliant achievement and one you should be hugely proud of, Charlie! 🌟

well done! Keep running, keep smiling and keep smashing those milestones! 💙🏃‍♂️🎉

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ WNR TAKE ON THE BELFAST CITY HALF MARATHON 2026! 💙🎉

Today was one of the BIG one’s in the Wednesday Night Runners calendar! 🙌

So much training, practice, grit, determination and hard work goes into running 13.1 miles, and our team absolutely smashed it today! 💪🔥

From our seasoned veterans to our Half Marathon first-timers, you all stepped onto that start line with smiles on your faces, plenty of confidence and, of course, the usual WNR craic! 😂💙

From the stories and laughter afterwards, it sounded like everyone had an absolute ball. There were tough moments out there, as there always are over this distance, but you dug deep, pushed yourselves and kept each other going — and most importantly, everyone made it home safely! 👏👏

💙 A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO OUR COACHES 💙

To our wonderful Half Marathon coaches, Sandra & Sam — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 🥹

The training, encouragement, patience and support you’ve given the group made this possible. You helped get us to that start line and gave us the belief to get ourselves over that finish line. We are so grateful! 🙌💙

And to everyone who was out on the course supporting us — cheering, shouting, encouraging and keeping us going mile after mile — THANK YOU! 📣👏

Those familiar faces and voices make such a difference when the legs are getting tired!

And finally, the BIGGEST thanks, as always, goes to our incredible ops team — Claire, Colin & Andrew. 💙

From sorting the gazebo and getting everything ready, to making sure there were snacks, drinks and smiling faces waiting for us at the end, you are always there for us.

Those welcome smiles when we came walking back to the tent meant the world. 🥰

Your amazing, selfless work for the club never goes unnoticed. We genuinely couldn’t do days like today without you.

A brilliant afternoon was had in the Fourwinds, with great food, drinks and even better company. The perfect way to celebrate a massive achievement for the whole team! 🎉

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Wednesday Night Runners – Saturday Round-Up! 🎉

It’s a two-post weekend for us because there was just SO much happening and so many wonderful people to celebrate! 💙

Saturday started with our usual parkrun adventures, with 9 of our team heading out across 4 different parkruns. 🙌

🔔 PB BELL! 🔔
A huge WELL DONE to James and Leanne Armstrong, who were both ringing that PB bell after smashing a course PB at Queen’s! 🎉👏

But the BIG celebration of the day belonged to our incredible Kathy! 🥳💙

🏆 350 PARKRUNS! 🏆

Yes… THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY! 😲🙌

What a phenomenal achievement and an absolutely brilliant milestone. That’s an incredible amount of Saturday mornings, miles, memories and probably more than a few early alarms! 😂

Kathy, we are so incredibly proud of you as a club. 💙 What an achievement, and we hope there are many, MANY more parkruns to come! 🥳🏃‍♀️
