✨𝑰𝑵𝑻𝑹𝑶𝑫𝑼𝑪𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑪𝑶𝑨𝑪𝑯 𝑪𝑨𝑹𝑨✨

Cara first walked through our doors as a client and since then, she’s completely transformed not only her physique, but her mindset too 💪🏼

Now, she’s part of the coaching team and you’ll find her in the gym every Tuesday & Thursday or covering the occasional class 🙌🏼

Alongside studying sport, Cara coaches multiple sports including hockey 🏑 and gymnastics 🤸‍♀️, and in her spare time she keeps active playing netball. Although… we also occasionally force her into team relays and 10K runs with the gym 😂

Here’s what Cara had to say about her journey:

“This transformation came from choosing myself every day. The best thing I changed wasn’t just my body, it was my mindset making time for movement, healthy eating, and becoming the happiest, healthiest version of me.”

At AB Fitness, we know that strength isn’t just physical, our mental wellbeing matters too. This week, we’re encouraging everyone to check in with themselves and each other.

A workout can lift your mood, a chat can change someone’s day and support can make all the difference 🫶🏼

On Tuesday 17th February , our beautiful friend and cherished gym member, Sara, gained her angel wings after a long and courageous battle with cancer. 💔

Sara passed away surrounded by her loving family and while our hearts are shattered, we find comfort in knowing she was wrapped in the love she so deeply deserved.

Her positivity, generosity, warmth, strength and kindness were simply unmatched. She showed up to every single session with a smile on her face, bringing laughter, light and a kind word for everyone around her even on the hardest days. That was Sara. No matter what she was facing, she chose hope. She chose courage. She chose to lift others up.

Sara wasn’t just a member of our gym. She was our friend. A wife. A loving mum. A sister. A daughter. A cousin. And truly one of the most inspiring and beautiful souls you could ever have the privilege to know. She fought so hard every single day, with a strength that humbled us all.

We are all heartbroken for her family, and we are holding them so close in our thoughts.

Forever in our hearts 🤍

We’re incredibly proud to share that our 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐬 £𝟕,𝟑𝟔𝟔 🤩

🩷 £5,500 has gone directly to Sara to help with her ongoing treatment

If you’ve been following us, you’ll know this was our second year competing in Battle Cancer and this time we had one goal only: to fight for Sara.

16 members of Team ABFit took on Glasgow and gave everything they had, and we couldn’t be prouder. This community showed up in every way possible.

A huge thank you to Cheryl & Tracey for helping make this all happen, and to everyone who donated, supported, shared, and cheered us on we couldn’t have done it without you.

𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚 🫶🏼

Sometimes coming to the gym isn’t about transforming your body, losing weight, building muscle, or hitting PBs.

Sometimes it’s about showing up and 
being surrounded by people who support you, lift you up, and hold you together when you’re not feeling yourself.

Transformations don’t always come in before & after photos.
They come in better movement, first pull-ups, stronger squats.
And sometimes, they come in the form of community 💜

Recently, our story hit very close to home.
This was all for someone incredibly special a cherished member of our gym, a friend, a sister, a wife, a mum, a daughter and one of the strongest, most inspiring women we know… Sara.

As many of you know, we competed as a gym at Battle Cancer Glasgow. From the very start, we decided we would do this for Sara.

Our goal was simple if we could raise enough money to fund even one of her treatments, then we were winning.

Through raffles, fundraising events, a GoFundMe, and putting ourselves through a brutal 90-minute competition, we made it happen.

We raised approximately £7,000.
And £5,500 of that will fully fund one of Sara’s treatments.

We may be a small gym, but we are a massive community and what we achieved together is nothing short of incredible.

On Christmas Eve, we had the privilege of surprising Sara, surrounded by her family, with the money we raised.

It was emotional. Wholesome. Unforgettable.
I cannot put into words how proud I am of every single person who took part, donated, supported, shared, or showed up.

Sara and her family are absolute gems, and being able to help in this way has meant everything to us.

I am forever grateful, Tears were shed & a whole lot of love was given 🤍
