Senior Mixed Greensomes Open - Tomorrow (30th July)

We can advise that space has become available for two pairs in our Senior Mixed Greensomes Open, to be played on the Lansdowne Course tomorrow (Thursday 30th July).

The available tee times are:

• 12:00pm

To be eligible, both players must be aged 55 or over on 1 January 2026.

Congratulations Fraser Walters from everyone at The Blairgowrie Golf Club after winning the prestigious Scottish Boys' Amateur Championship at the weekend.

Fraser, who celebrates his 16th birthday while representing Scotland at the looming European Young Masters, beat international teammate Eddie Jackson in a thrilling 4&2 win at windswept Fraserburgh.

It marked the culmination of a long road to the final which began on Wednesday with two days of strokeplay before entering the matchplay phase.

Fraser handled the demands of eight rounds in five days to secure the trophy and emulate fellow Blair member Bradley Neil’s 2013 victory.

“Once you get through to matchplay, then anything can happen - so I’m really happy to come out on top,” said Fraser.

After reaching the quarterfinals last year, the Blair teenager was pleased to go all the way this time round, crediting a strong mentality making all the difference.

“In matchplay anything can happen, it's an all mentality game - making sure to stay in the matches,” said Fraser, who maintained his composure after a lost ball on the opening hole.

“It's been a long week, a couple rounds a day can be very tiring, so I’m glad to get it over the line and enjoy it,” he said.

Managing secretary Stuart Wilson said: “It was a fantastic performance by Fraser in challenging conditions and our members are thrilled for him. We wish him the very best of luck with his career going forward."
