Thank you so much for coming today to our Forest School adventure… the one with all of the cows! 🐄🌿

We had such a lovely day filled with creativity, imagination, teamwork and outdoor fun. The children created beautiful clay nature-print tiles to hang at home (hopefully they all made it back in one piece!), built dens together and enjoyed eating their lunch inside them beneath the trees.

One small group showed amazing communication, sharing and teamwork while learning to light the campfire safely together. Two of the older children then took real responsibility helping the rest of the group make delicious s’mores on the fire, which everyone absolutely loved. 🔥🍫

We also spent time using tools, creating and building, sharing ideas and letting imaginations run wild. It was wonderful to stay cool under the trees while enjoying the sunshine and all the signs of early summer around us.

We finished the session with bubbles beneath the trees and some lovely whole-group games before heading home.

Unfortunately, the cows decided they wanted to join in the Forest School fun too, which meant we had to mooooove out a little earlier than planned! 🐄😂

Thank you again for such a wonderful day and for being part of such a kind, creative and supportive group. Here’s a little snippet of what we got up to today and some of the magical moments the children enjoyed. 🌿✨

Golden hour blues and busy little pollinators 🐝💙
Nature always reminds us to slow down and notice the tiny beautiful moments. This little bumblebee enjoying a nigella “Love in the mist” flower was too special not to share 🌿✨.

A moment to stop amongst a busy ‘mum of boys’ afternoon!

Nothing says summer quite like making elderflower cordial over the campfire ☀️🌼

Today we’re doing a practice run on the stove!

Using freshly picked elderflower heads picked on our dog walk, water, lemon, and honey, we created a simple recipe full of the scents and flavours of the season. Stirring gently over the heat for 20 minutes. We’ll be enjoying the fruits of the summer sun together at this week’s Forest school adventure. Watch out for a little campfire made cordial coming home Wednesday!🍸 🔥

🐝✨ World Bee Day – was Wednesday 20th May ✨🐝

This week at Forest Yogi Minds we’ve been celebrating the incredible gift of bees and all the amazing things they do for our world. 🌼💛

Our little nature explorers created their own bee revival bottles using a simple sugar water mix — a gentle way to help a tired bee who may need a quick energy boost before flying off again. Watching the children carefully prepare their tiny bottles sparked wonderful conversations about kindness, pollination, biodiversity and caring for even the smallest creatures. 🌿🐝

Bees may be tiny, but their impact is HUGE. Without them, many of the foods, flowers and habitats we love simply wouldn’t thrive. 🌸🍓🌻

🐝 5 Bee-autiful Facts About Bees 🐝
• Bees pollinate around one third of the food we eat 🌎
• A single bee visits up to 5,000 flowers in one day 🌼
• Honeybees communicate through a special “waggle dance” 💃
• Bees are vital for healthy ecosystems and wildlife habitats 🌿
• There are over 20,000 species of bees worldwide! 🐝✨

Here’s to protecting pollinators, planting more wildflowers and raising children who care deeply for nature. 💛

Campfire 🔥 bread has been our snack this week and children have foraged and selected some herbs to add to them including rosemary and wild garlic. Some of them trying it for the first time and asking for seconds! (Even with the well toasted parts!!)

There’s something so magical about cooking over the campfire ✨🔥

This week we made simple campfire bread using just TWO ingredients… yoghurt and flour! Allergy adaptations were all catered for too, so everyone could join in the experience 🌿

The children carefully whittled their own sticks before wrapping the dough around them and cooking it over the fire. We added freshly foraged rosemary from the herb beds around our school sites (plus a little backup rosemary “foraged” from the local supermarket just in case 😄).

So much learning happened through the process — perseverance while carving, patience while waiting for the bread to bake, and the pride that comes from creating something from start to finish.

Finished with a little dairy-free spread melted onto the warm bread… absolutely delicious 🤎

Let me know if you try campfire bread at home or around your own fire circle 🔥
