My passion out of work is Surfing, any other water sports and being in the sea, water and spending time at the beach, I guess you could call me and most of my friends Mermaids. In November 2014 I had an accident with my surf board, my Fin went through my 6mm winter wetsuit and through my leg, just missing my artery, I was very lucky! I then went skiing and tore my ACL on the same leg. Physio has been hard work, however determined to get back to work and activity I have and am continuing to persevere...

I knew the water and swimming would be my first step in exercise, I wanted something to look forward to and distract me from thinking of what I can't do. I finally brought my Dream Mermaid Tail, I was so excited waiting for it and was super stoked when it arrived! and everyone who sees me in it does too. It has really helped me, not only for getting stronger and fitter, however helped with self confidence, especially being off work and injured for some time and has helped motivate me and increase my self esteem, through being back in the water, which I love! The response I have been getting from everyone I meet has been amazing! "Thank you"

Asking questions on why I actually brought it, and some adults at my local hotel pool, trying out the fin and tail too. Guests staying at the hotel pool I use, taking pictures from their hotel rooms and waving to me. The response has been overwhelming inspiring, motivating and with a lot of research, and hard work driven me to setting up a Mermaid business. I am now very proud and very excited to share this with other Mermaids of all ages, what ever their motivation to be a real Life a Mermaid through joining our Pod at "Mayim Mermaid Academy"

We have various MERMAZING, experience s to suit all wishes and dreams, from Mermaid Parties, Supervised, structured lessons, fitness classes, private coaching, Hen parties or any other celebrations. All will have a photo shoot

💙 What made you enter the National Championships?
I wanted a challenge, and to learn something new. I’m happy this competition exists, a place to stretch ourselves and our abilities as merfolk. This is my first time, so I also think the competition will be a lot against myself. I wish to do well.

As a dance artist, I’m used to performing on land, so this is also a fun and different way of exploring movement and performance in another element. I look forward to this trip.

This will actually be my first formal mermaiding competition! My background is in aquatic performance, dance and artistic swimming. One of my favourite experiences was performing Aquatic Contact Improvisation at Liquidrom in Berlin, but my lifetime favourite has to be my underwater live performance Trinester at PARAHAUS, alongside the São Paulo Biennale in Brazil in 2010. I’ve also really enjoyed performing and training in artistic swimming.

💙 What made you enter the National Championships?
I love challenging myself and learning new ways of moving and performing in water. Mermaiding brings together so many things I love — swimming, breath control, underwater movement, dance, creativity and performance — so entering the Nationals felt like an exciting next step.

✨ What do you love most about mermaiding?
The freedom of moving underwater and the combination of athleticism, imagination and artistic expression. Water has been part of my creative practice for many years, and becoming a mermaid gives me another beautiful language through which to explore it. 🧜‍♀️🌊

🇬🇧 What does being part of Team UK mean to you?
It would mean being part of a community of people who share a passion for water, creativity and mermaiding, while representing the UK alongside other inspiring aquatic performers. I’m excited to learn, develop my skills and contribute my own experience of underwater dance and aquatic performance.

💙 What made you enter the National Championships? (1–3 sentences):
I became a PADI mermaid instructor in 2025, CMAS freediving instructor in 2023, and won 3 medals in Norwegian freediving depth championships in 2026. Otherwise always loved water in nature and most types of water-sports involving snorkeling, swimming and paddling kayaks, standup-paddleboards and canoes, and SUP-yoga (also skiing, snowboarding and skating on frozen water). Which is both my main hobbies and career as instructor-guide (and was previously a limnology-water-scientist).

✨ What do you love most about mermaiding?
I love snorkeling, freediving and mermaiding through Norwegian fjords, kelp forests and forest lakes, and vacations to colourful tropical coral reefs with rainbow fish 😍🤩🧜‍♀️🐠 So much cool underwater life and beautiful subaquatic landscapes to see, and such an amazing indescribable feeling, combined with health and fitness 💙. Without a doubt, the Performance Round! I love to move, flow and express myself through the water. It’s my chance to let my mermaid soul shine, lose myself in the music and bring a little ocean magic to life.

Why I entered

I’ve spent years bringing mermaid magic to children and families through my parties, books and ocean conservation work, but now I want to challenge myself as a mermaid athlete too! I’m excited to swap the storytelling stage for the competition pool, meet fellow mermaids and see what this tail can really do

What do you love most about mermaiding?

The moment I put on my tail, something shifts. I feel joyful, free, playful and completely myself.

I love the wonder it creates, especially for children, but I also love what lies underneath the magic. Being a mermaid gives me a way to connect people with the ocean and inspire them to care about the incredible world beneath the waves. X .mershell .united.academy
