The Highfox Stud was established in 1987 and is based at Queensbury in West Yorkshire. We are the oldest and most successful New Forest pony stud in the north of England. Our ponies combine the best of both Forest and Stud bloodlines and we focus on breeding ponies that are true to type, demonstrate native hardiness and have excellent temperaments. This just came up on ‘memories’, Samsons Spy, Highfox Fairytale’s grandsire, winning the Silver Medal at Rydale ten years ago. She was keeping up the family tradition yesterday. We’d forgotten that he’d won this! He was such a lovely, gentle stallion.

Highfox Fairytale’s first show of the year today at Rydale. Little ⭐️ Large Breeds Champion, Silver Medal winner, Supreme Champion M&M. We last won this accolade in 1997 with Fijal Gemstone.

Rubbish pictures (mine!) and a few professional ones, from a lovely day at a busy, buzzy, friendly, local country show. So thrilled with how Heaven Sent (Luckington Sportaide x Highfox Evensong), behaved and went, in big, mixed breed classes (so good to see large numbers forward). She was a joy and won proper prize money too !!!! A little more ridden experience for this genuine, novice pony. It’s been great fun today - if a bit on the warm side 🌞

The GYS 2026.

Fabulous to see nice classes of quality NF ponies and to catch up with so many people.

Highfox Skyfall went beautifully in the NF ridden and was rewarded with the 2nd highest ride mark, but finished 7th. Expertly piloted by Jo Sky had a lovely day out, a very happy boy. Heritage didn’t enjoy being in the main ring, but somehow still managed to finish 2nd in a lovely youngstock class. Photos: First Class Images and super groom Philippa.
