Spen Valley United Under 14’s football team born from the Spen Valley Vipers.

Less than 3 days to go and we have raised 51% of our target.

We are doing a fundraising walk along the coastal path from Scarborough to Whitby Leisure Centre, then competing in a game to finish the day off.

We are raising money for new equipment for the upcoming season and beyond. If anyone can donate anything it is much appreciated or please share this around for us.

For those who don’t know who we are. We are a basketball team that have 4 men’s teams, u16’s and u14’s who compete in regular competitve fixtures. We have a girls group at u13’s who are building towards fixtures and an u12’s who are also building towards fixtures.

We have started a petition to see if we can get Kirklees to allow us the use of the old Birkdale High School sports hall. This building as stood untouched since 2011 with nothing happening with it. We have attempted on numerous occasions to try get this building. We were last told it was part of a selling bid. We spoke to them again last week and it is now being reassessed what they can do with it.
Our plans are to use it for basketball and while it is not being used by us we would like to allow other community groups to hire the facility from us.
