Another cup game, another night where Georginio Rutter tops the Brighton player ratings after an excellent performance featuring a goal and an assist

Rutter cannot do much more than he currently is to force his way into the Premier League starting XI.

Fabian Hurzeler said the competition between Charalampos Kostoulas and Rutter is driving both to higher levels. He is right

Danny who? 👀

A missed opportunity at the City of Shamchester Stadium?

Brighton led twice in 90 minutes and once during the penalty shootout. There were several opportunities to put the tie to bed.

Yet the Albion were still knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Manchester City as a 48-year wait to reach the quarter finals goes on.

Having said that... plenty of positives from the way Brighton played before taking on the cheats again on Saturday.

Well at least losing on penalties saved us from seeing Brighton knock out Manchester City, make the League Cup quarter finals for the first time since 1978, get all giddy about becoming one of the favourites to win the competition... only to then lose against Bradford in the next round

We appeared to upset quite a lot of Liverpool fans when saying Anfield might have replaced West Ham as the worst, most soulless away day in the Premier League

So here are the best Brighton fan photos from the worst, most soulless away day in the Premier League 😉

Brighton take on the failed Abu Dhabi sportswashing project which is Manchester City in the Carabao Cup tonight - a club whose 114 guilty charges correlate to having potentially cheated the Albion out of £53m in prize money since 2017

£21,769,248 in Premier League merit payments and £31,368,792 in revenue from missing out on Europe

Motivation enough for victory at the City of Shamchester Stadium...

Of course we went all the way to the Czech Republic to watch free-scoring Brighton drew a blank against FK Jablonec

A decent afternoon for Bart Verbruggen at least as some key saves could have given Brighton a platform to get back into things at Liverpool had the Albion been able to muster more than one shot on target

Can't be many people out there now still thinking Brighton made the wrong decision in sticking with Verbruggen over Carl Rushworth... can there? 👀

"Brighton title hopes dealt a blow in defeat at Liverpool"

Can't be too disappointed given that is a sentence no Albion fan would have expected to read two months ago, right?

Brighton 5-0 Crystal Palace 😂

A biggest win over the Eagles since the 1955-56 season as seen through the lens of Martin Denyer 📸
