🌪️🎣 The Calm Before the Storm!

As most of you will know, we’ve got some tasty weather heading our way this weekend! Strong winds, low pressure and hopefully some BIG fish on the feed! 💪🐟

Just a quick reminder to everyone fishing at Hillside this weekend, with winds potentially reaching 50mph, please take extra care on the banks. Position your bivvies sideways to the wind rather than front on, get those pegs well secured and keep an eye on conditions throughout your session.

As they say… BIG WINDS, BIG FISH! 💪🎣

🎣 Catch a thirty, give it a name!

At Hillside Fishery, any angler who catches a carp weighing 30lb or over from Pads Lake will have the chance to name it, subject to approval by fishery owner Albert!

Two fish have already been named! Carl Kendall has named his 33lb 5oz common Spike, while George Maddocks has named his stunning 33lb 9oz mirror Lola 👏

At the right time of year, we believe there are around six or seven carp over 30lb in Pads, so there could be another five waiting to be named! 👀

To put your chosen name forward, send us a photo of the fish, the date caught and a clear photo of the scales showing the weight. Please also call our bailiff at the time of capture so they can verify it ✅

🎣 Bailiff duties… with a little fishing in between!

A big shoutout to our bailiff Timmy Stott, who’s been putting some serious work in around the lakes lately. From de-weeding and tidying swims to general maintenance, he’s helping make sure the fishery is looking its best for everyone visiting.

And in between all that hard work, he managed to dip a rod himself… resulting in 8 cats, with the biggest going 39lb! 👏🐟

Great work both on and off the bank, Timmy. The improvements around the lakes are really starting to show, and a well-earned bit of fishing thrown in too! 🎣💪

He landed the Little Pig at an impressive 27lb, then topped the session off with a stunning 16lb common. Two cracking fish and some mega pictures to go with them! 👌🐟
