A huge well done to everyone involved in today's Grade 5 Wales Local Tour competition at . Some great weather and tennis from all players, including our finalists:

🏆 11 & Under Boys Singles
Winner - Ethan Harris

🏆 11 & Under Girls Singles
Winner - Bethany Armstrong
Runner-up - Mia Palfrey

🏆 8 & Under Mixed
Winner - Rafi Kerrigan
Runner-up - Margo Rivers

Players came from clubs around South Wales and it was great to see members from our partner clubs at Barry, Radyr and Penarth Windsor taking part, including event winners Ethan and Bethany !

So many successes across the board, we are a proud group of coaches who are already loving getting stuck back in on the training court with you all 💪🏻🎾

They’re perfectly pitched at players who are towards the top end of their club programme, or those who are getting involved in the county tennis scene.

🤝 PLUS – we’re super excited to have a rare one - a Junior 14 & Under Doubles tournament!

From Saturday morning Tots Tennis to Welsh Champ 🏆... Well done Charlie!

We’ve got more breaking news from the Welsh Championships: another Welsh Champion in the ranks! 🎾

A huge congratulations to Charlie Newman, who has achieved an incredible quadruple, winning both singles and doubles in the 14U and 16U categories 🏆🏆🏆🏆

To cap a memorable week he’s also received confirmation of his call-up to represent Team Wales at the upcoming Four Nations event! 🏴

A huge well done to Charlie and his lead coach Tom Bellingham.

A well deserved achievement for Hugo and Coach Ewan! Hugo is part of a great group of young players coming through at Radyr

A huge congratulations to Hugo, who scooped silver medal at the Welsh Championships yesterday in the 8 & Under category! 🥈

This represents a great achievement for Hugo and his lead coach Ewan after a season of lots of practice and competitions where he has made excellent progress👏

We’ve got lots of club members competing well at the Welsh Championships this week which still has a couple of days left to run... well done to all involved!

Well done Ophelia and Coach Rob G 🌟🎾

🏆 WELSH NATIONAL CHAMPION!

A huge congratulations from everyone at the club to Ophelia Hunkin, who today became the Welsh 11 & Under Girls’ Champion.

Ophelia produced some fantastic tennis at the Championships being held all week at Bridgend, winning her way through every round in straight sets to take the title.

A massive congratulations to Ophelia and her lead coach Rob Gaunt.

Ophelia is one of many of our junior club members competing at the Championships this week, and we’re incredibly proud of every single one of them. We’ll share a full roundup of everyone’s achievements once the tournament comes to an end on the weekend.

We had a great time at today’s Red & Orange Local Tour event, kindly hosted by Charlotte at Radyr Lawn Tennis Club. A huge well done to all the young players who got stuck in, played lots of matches and enjoyed some fantastic competition - including our medallists where we are always proud to have some home-grown players :)

8U Boys Runner Up: Hugo / Winner: Eli
8U Girls Runner-Up: Audrey / Winner: Anastasia
9U Mixed Runner-Up: Rohan / Winner: Anastasia

These were the final LTA tournaments in our summer programme, but there’s PLENTY more competitive tennis to come!

📅 Our September & October tournaments across our venues are LIVE and already taking bookings, with plenty of opportunities to compete before the inevitable change in weather after October half-term!

👥 There are also lots of tournaments taking place at other venues including the Welsh Champs at Bridgend, so plenty of opportunities to keep competing.

Pob lwc to the U11 South Wales Boys' team who will be competing in the GB County Cup Finals.

The team will take on some of the best U11 county teams from across Great Britain in Nottingham over the weekend.
