🏑 The Dragons are back for 2027. 🐉

New teammates. New challenges. Representative hockey. And plenty of memories along the way.

Last summer, our Dragons players came together from clubs across the region to train, develop and compete — representing MAD at tournaments across the UK.

In 2027, we’re going bigger.

🐉 U15 Boys
🐉 U15 Girls

The Dragons programme is about giving ambitious young players another opportunity to challenge themselves, experience representative hockey and keep Moving Ahead in Development alongside their club hockey.

Small change. Big difference. 🏑💥

When a skill isn’t producing the outcome we want, the answer isn’t always to try harder.

Sometimes it’s about understanding where the speed and power actually come from — then giving the player the opportunity to feel the difference.

A bit of explanation. A demonstration. A few adjustments. Then plenty of goes.

And Lily absolutely got hold of it by the end 👏

This is what coaching a skill actually looks like 👁️🏑

Not perfect demonstrations. Not simply being told the answer.

Trying it. Understanding the problem. Making an adjustment. Trying again.

Here, we’re exploring how a closed receive can be used to protect the ball when a defender is applying pressure - and you can see the change in both the technique and understanding as the conversation develops.

The skill matters. But understanding why, when and how to use it matters even more.

And a special mention for Verity, who apparently took on the role of MAD camera operator for the moment 🎥👏 Capturing the coaching process brilliantly!
